~Lana~

I needed answers and I didn't feel like lying around to wait for them. I clenched my jaw together as I lifted my body from the hospital bed. My head was still pounding but I had to figure out what the hell was going on.

I was sitting straight up and my feet hovered over the floor. I gathered up the strength to stand but as my weight transferred to my feet I felt a shock of pain go through my left leg. I looked down to see a cast on it that I hadn't noticed earlier.

How did I not notice that earlier?

I fell onto my back and decided I would wait until someone walked in.

I grew impatient after about half an hour.

Fuck it.

I sat up again for a second go round.

I took a deep breath and prepared myself for the pain. I tried again to stand but this time leaving the weight to my right leg.

My left leg began to throb almost immediately but it wasn't as painful as the first time.

I limped my way to the door of the hospital room.

I opened it slowly and looked around the dim hallway to find no one.

Ugh.

I continued hobbling until I reached another hospital room. The door was open which made me curious.

I heard crying coming from inside the room.

I turned around and decided to try the other direction. I walked past a few dark rooms until I reached a dimly lit one.

I walked just close enough to the doorway to look inside.

I could see a boy on a bed, speaking to what I assumed were his parents.

I couldn't quite hear what he was saying.

I wobbled a bit closer.

I grumbled at the shock of pain I felt when I left my body weight on the casted foot for too long.

The boy looked up and spotted me right away.

He gave me a curious look. I gave him a sort of glare.

"Lana?" He asked. As he did this his parents turned to look in my direction.

Lana? Is that my name?

It doesn't even sound familiar.

"What are you doing here?" He asked.

Well, I don't know. Why do most people come to hospitals? I mean I have a fricking broken leg here.

"Well, if I knew that, I wouldn't be hobbling around on a broken leg." I said.

He seemed a bit taken aback from my response.

"You broke your leg?" He asked looking concerned.

"Xander, who is this?" His father interrupted.

Xander.

"This is Alana Blake. I know her from school." The boy answered.

Alana Blake.

"Yes. As you can see, I broke my leg." I said in an irritated voice, trying to get back to the conversation.

"How?" He asked.

"I don't remember." I said.

"Did you hit your head?" Xander asked.
