School just ended and Ace is dropping a bomb on me.
"But you said you were going?" I said.
It's already Thursday. How can he say he's not going?
"I don't remember saying that." Ace said as he walked to the parking lot.
"Well, you didn't say you weren't." I said.
"I just didn't feel like it." Ace said. "What's so great about a school dance anyway?"
There's only a few days until the dance.
"The memories! And the dancing! And you get to spend time with your friends!" I said as I followed him.
And the scenery and the bonding.
I've never been to a dance but I'm sure it's this magical.
"What friends?" Ace said.
"This is another good reason that you should have friends." I said.
"So I'm going to the dance for friends or I should have friends for the dance. Which is it?" Ace asked.
"Both. Spending time with people you like always makes things better." I said.
"But I don't like those people." Ace said.
"But we are friends. So we should go together." I said.
"I didn't realize being friends was so tiresome. I don't think I like it." Ace said.
"But what about everyone else. We'll miss you if you don't go." I said.
"Then have fun missing me." He said.
"Aaaaaace."
"Neeeeerrrd. Stop following me. I don't want you to know where I live." He said as he got into his car.
"I won't leave until you agree to go to the dance." I said as I got in the passenger seat.
"My dad's not home either. Don't get an ideas. I still think you're creepy."
I gasped.
"I haven't even picked out a dress." I said.
What am I going to do?
Everyone must have a dress by now. What if it takes forever to find one?
"A dress you say?" Ace said with a mischievous grin.
"Well yeah. It's a formal after all." I said.
It is a formal. Right? I'm not getting mixed up?
"Well, if it's a dress you need, don't worry. I have the perfect one." He said.
"Really? Oh my gosh. Can I use it?" I said.
"Of course. It's at my house." He said as he started the car.
"What does it look like?" I asked.
"It's a surprise, but I'll tell you this. It's the perfect dress for you." He said with a grin.
"Ooh. I'm so excited!" I said.

"So do you have a dress picked out yet?" Haylin asked.
We were both laying on my bed doing homework.
"Yeah. I got it online." I said.
