Haylin was drunk and wobbly. Catya was drunk and angry. Ryder and Ryland had split up from us a little bit ago. And as replacement, Abs, Misa, and Catya's sister were now standing with us.

I wasn't drunk yet. Tipsy maybe, but not enough to be acting like Haylin or Catya.

Catya was fuming and ranting about everyone at the party and Haylin was giggling at every word she spoke.

Abs seemed to be holding his alcohol well or he hadn't drank much.

Catya's little sister and Misa weren't drinking or at least I hadn't seen them drinking.

I observed all of them, quietly as usual. It was hard to believe that a few days ago I had known some of these people so well and had been good friends with them.

And now they were all strangers.

"Honestly, what is she trying to pull? He's obviously not into her." Catya slurred. Her cheeks were red and she had a permanent scowl on her face. Her eyes were stuck on Xander. "She's such a slug!"

"Oh my gosh. Catya! She could've heard you." Haylin laughed loudly.

"I could care less about what that floozy thinks of me!" Catya said.

After these past few days being around these people, I had concluded that the people I had been closest to were named Catya, Haylin, Ryland, and Ryder. They were my best friends but for some reason didn't seem to know each other very well.

And then there were the others. I didn't think I knew them well before the accident but they seemed to have become repeating characters in my life.

Then, there was the weird girl Misa. She looked at me strangely sometimes. She also looked at Ace the same way. She was like a puppy dog following him around all the time.

I wasn't sure exactly why they were so important. But lately I'd had this feeling, like something was going to happen. Or that maybe it had already begun.
