My dress was the prettiest work of art I had ever laid eyes on. And it was the most uncomfortable thing to sit on. Ever.
The entire dress was covered in beaded motifs and when I tried to sit on it, they dug into me, despite the lining on the inside. But I will endure because it is gorgeous.
For jewelry I settled on simple diamond studs and a diamond pendant.
I did my makeup and hair and am ready at exactly 8, when we were supposed to leave.
"Ariel, we're late." Griffin calls from the room. I roll my eyes in the mirror before walking out.
"We aren't late, we're delayed." I smile. "It's only 8, don't exaggerate." I close the door behind me to see him putting on his watch.
"Yes well, father would--" he turns and stops talking when his eyes settle on me and darken. He looks at me up and down, tracing every detail making me squirm.
"Stop staring." I mumble, looking down at the bows of my heels to distract myself. "Does it not look good? Are the heels off? The red lipstick maybe? Comeon what is it?" I demand.
"Nothing." He shakes his head.
"Liar." I walk over to where he is standing and look at myself in the mirror. "Is it--"
