Ariyahs POV
45 Mins earlier
"Finally done." I say closing my computer and packing it up. I text Alex letting her know I'm heading down to my car and will be home in 30 minutes.
I get into the car and head to her apartment. When I make it to the red light that's right before her street, I text Alex I'm pulling up. It turns green so I put my phone down and I slowly make my way out then I hear tires burnout and a light coming from the right of my car and pain immediately after.
I open my eyes and see lights of a black sports car and 3 figure's exiting. "Baby! Ariyah!" I hear the broken voice of my girlfriend.
"Alex go! Calm the fuck down!" I hear Malin yell.
"The ambulance are on their way Ari. Just hold on for Alex ok?" Isiah says. His voice is calm but I can tell he's panicking. What's happening?
"Ariyah!"
"Alex?" I call but everything goes dark after red and blue lights flash.
Alex POV
Hospital
We've been in the waiting area outside of Ariyahs room for the past 2 hours and haven't heard anything yet. Isiah has been trying to calm me down but I can tell he's struggling from even being in an hospital again. He's always had anxiety from being in and out of the hospital so frequently when he was fighting his cancer.
"Guys she going to be fine. It's Ariyah we're talking about." Malin says holding both of us to her chest with an arm around both of us.
After another 30 minutes go by, a dark skinned woman with long grey locs in a black trench coat and black dress and heels and a tall white man with a grey well trimmed beard and Ivy League hair cut in a black suit, come in. Malin immediately stands up to talk to them.
"Mr. and Mrs. Fallon. Im sorry that you had to come all this way under these circumstances." She says with a shaky voice. These are Ariyahs parents. Fuck. This is not how I wanted to meet them.
"Of course Malin. How is she?" The man asks with a voice strong like how you'd imagine Zeus voice to sound like.
"We haven't been told anything. But she's alive. That's all we've been told since we got here." Malin reports.
"Oh my god my baby." The woman hugs Malin. "And how are you dear?" Malin shakes her head and breaks down for the first time since finding out about Ariyah. She heard the sound of the crash and checked outside the window of the apartment and saw Ariyahs truck and immediately went into action.
"Shes been holding it together for us." Isiah speaks up causing the older couple to look over at him.
"You must be Isiah. Malin speaks very highly of you." The man hugs Isiah when he goes for a handshake.
"You are as handsome as she described." The woman says to make Isiah smile. It worked. She looks over at me. "Oh goodness." My heart beats out of my chest at the acknowledgment and reaction. She walks up to me and grabs my hands in hers while looking me in my eyes. "You are Alex." She said as if in awe.
"Yes ma'am." My voice sounds horse from hours of crying and yelling.
"You are beautiful darling. Joseph come introduce yourself." Ariyahs mom directs the man known as Joseph. "Is she not beautiful?" She boasts.
"That's she is. You are making my daughter very happy. She talks about you to us every day. We were hoping to meet you on Christmas not under these circumstances." He says hugging me. He smells like rich cedar wood.
"I agree sir. I'm so sorry this has happened." Tears threaten to fall but Ariyahs mother catches them.
"It's not your fault. It's that other drivers fault for running a red. There will be consequences that's for sure." She says strong and confident . I see where Ariyah get it's from.
"Yes ma'am."
"Please call me Alani. I'm not that old." She says.
Five minutes later of talking amongst ourselves and her parents asking about me, I'm 100 times more nervous for this since I don't have Ariyah beside me nor do I know if she is still truly ok.
"Ariyah Fallons family?" The doctor says and we all stand up. "She's going to be fine. She's stable. She has a concussion from hitting her head on the window from the impact and some scars from the glass that we've stitched up. You can go in but she's not awake yet. So give her a few minutes for the medicine to wear off." He says and smiles.
"Thank you doctor." Joseph says. "You all go in." He says and continues to talk to the doctor.
We walk in and my body freezes when I see her. Her head is bandaged and there's stitch marks all over her arms. I stare at her like she's not real. I try to blink away the image of seeing her like this and when it wasn't working I felt my breaths growing shallower.
"Alex? Alex!" Isiah's voice muffles in my ear.
I focus my eyes onto my unconscious girlfriend and I feel like everything has broken inside of me. "Alex honey! She's fine. Look she's breathing." Malin says grabbing my face to show the monitor that's showing her heartbeat. "Look at me." My eyes find hers and they're full of tears. "She's ok. You have to be strong for her when she wakes up. She won't want to see you like this Alex." Every sound around me starts to become clearer.
"I'm sorry." She hugs me.
"It's ok. Just go sit by her so you're the first face she sees ok?" She lets me go and I go sit at the chair beside her bed that's facing her.
I grab her softly. "Hey baby. Sorry for the dramatics." I chuckle. "Just wake up for me. I need to see your eyes to believe you're actually ok. I'll be right here." I say wiping away tears that threaten to fall.
"Please."
A/N SHES FIINNEE. YOU CANT HATE ME NOW.
