Awkward Encounter

The remainder of the week has gone by normal. One thing that is different is that Aryiah has started spending most night over at the apartment. She says she barely gets enough sleep at her place and I have no complaints because I agree. I've never had trouble sleeping before her but it's definitely approved having her next to me. I just hate that she has to leave early every morning to get ready for work due to the fact that she has to pick Crystal up some days for work.

It's now the following Thursday and tomorrow the company leaves for vacation so it's all about last minute work getting done and approved so there's nothing to get done when we get back.

I'm in an all black 3 piece set and all my new furniture has finally come in. I have the desk to the left of the window instead of infront so the glare is non existent and accent chairs and plant and of course a book shelf that I will organize as soon as we get back from vacation. My hair is in a pony tail with strands hanging my frame. And rings.

"Damn it looks good in here." Isiah says.

"It must be lunch for you to be coming in here." I say not looking up from my computer.

"You know it. But I know you got a lot to get done so I brought food. You do still need to eat." He said and place a food bag down. And started serving me Chinese food.

"Thanks." I say chewing and still typing.

"Of course. How are things going with Ariyah? You guys seem to be moving quite fast. It's been 2 weeks." He says serving my drink.

I swallow nodding. "Yeah we are. But we're still taking things slow. Having love bombed yet so that's slow for lesbians." I say laughing.

He laughed. "Do you feel like you do?" He ask seriously.

I raise my eyebrow. "What? Love her?" He nods. And I shrug. "Well I don't know. I know I have strong feelings for her but love may be too fast. I don't want to scare her away."

He shrugs and nods. "You're right. I mean I told Malin I loved her after the 2nd date."

I laugh. "Yeah but that's because you guys been best friends since college. That's doesn't count. I just met Ariyah 3 weeks ago. It's different."

"True." He says feedin me the last bite. "All done. I'm gonna get out your hair. I gotta get packing for tomorrow. See you at home. I'm sure Ariyah can give you a ride." He winks and leaves the room.

I smile at the thought of being in the car with Ariyah again. Last time was the first time we had sex. And we've had it plenty of times now where it's not just awkward tension but just sexual. And honestly after all this busy work I've got a lot of pent up energy.

6 hits and I gather my stuff to get ready to leave. I lock my door but I don't see Ariyah. I walk into her office and see her still working. "Babe?"

She looks up and smiles but it immediately falls. "I'm sorry baby. I have too much work to get done. The job of the boss never stops unfortunately."

I walk over to her desk and see what she's working on. "This stuff can't wait til we get back baby?" I say kissing her neck to cam her nerves. She shivers and close her eyes.

"Unfortunately it can't. As much as I want to go home with you tonight." I pull away and face her. She caresses my face. "I have to be responsible just like everyone else was."

I sigh and nod understanding. "I understand baby." I kiss her lips. "But now I have to cal an Uber because you were supposed to be my ride."

Her face goes sad. "Oh baby I'm sorry." She thinks and sighs. "I can have Crystal take you."

I eye her confused. "Are you sure? I don't want to put you in a weird position. I can call it's no problem."

She shakes her head. "No. It's fine. Save your money. She's been reserved from you so I assume she's over her little crush over you." She shrugs and starts to text Crystal.

I don't think this is a good idea but if Ariyah is ok with it I wont question it. Besides I haven't had much conversation with Crystal since the meeting. And I've honestly missed our conversations. "Ok."

"She said she's downstairs already. She's waiting for you." She says and I kiss her good bye.

"I'll call you when I get home." I say leaving to meet up with Crystal.

I make it to her car. It's a red Camaro. "Well damn. Nice ride." I say getting in.

She smiles. "Thanks. Why did you stay so late if Isiah left?" She ask.

Shit can I say I wanted Ariyah to take me home. "I lost track of time is all. He got tired of waiting for me." I shrug lying.

"Oh ok. You really shouldn't work so hard. It'll get done." She says driving towards the apartment.

"Thanks for the ride. I've missed being around you." I say honestly.

She glances at me and blushes. "I've missed you too Alex. How are things with your girl?"

I swallow. "Uh we're good. Things are moving pretty seriously I think. I'm happy." I say again honestly.

She nods. "That's good. What have you been up to?"

We begin to talk about all the new Harry Potter content out and new movies coming out we want to see. And then we scheduled a day to go together. As friends of course. It was great talking to her again.

"Here we are." She says stoping the car.

"Thanks again Crystal. And I can't wait for next week." I say referring to seeing a movie together.

She smiles. "Me too. Good night Alex." She says and I exit the car.

I walk inside and text Ariyah I made it home and start stripping into my underwear and tossing on shorts and tank top. I finish brushing my teeth when I hear the door.

"Hey I thought you were- I'm interrupted by lips on mine and they feel familiar but not recently familiar. I open my eyes and see Crystal. I instantly pull away.

"Ooh minty." She says seductivelyz

I eye her confused. "Crystal what are you doing?"

She rolls her eyes and throws her hands up. "What does it look like Alex? I'm trying to seduce you. I missed your lips. That night i was here i should've taken that opportunity and slept with you but I thought getting to know you first would better my chances of you liking me."

"I did like you Crystal but I'm in a relationship. I can't cheat on them. Despite how serious we are or not. It's wrong." I say seriously.

"I'm sorry. Look I am. But I can't help but feel like I can be better. We get along so well. After weeks of not taklkinh we clicked just like that again. Please give me a chance." She said walking closer to me and kissing me again passionately.

I got to push her away again but the sound of the door interrupts. "I'm sorry Crystal but we can't. You need to go. Please. I'm not upset I promise." I open the door for her to leave and I'm greeted with my girl- Ariyah.

She eyes Crystal and I and I can see all the scenarios running through her mind. "Hey Ariyah. What are you doing here?" Crystal asks her cousin.

She looks at me and tears start to form but she blinks them away and gives her attention to her cousin. "I just came to see if Isiah was here. I needed to go over some last minute designs. But I didn't see his car so I was just going to ask Alex if she could relay the message."

I nod to the lie. "Crystal was just leaving l. You can come in so we can talk." I suggest hoping she'll allow me to explain.

She shakes her head. "No don't worry about it I didn't mean to intrude. I'll just talk to her tomorrow on the plane. You two have a good night." She walks away not even looking at me.

"Good night Alex. I'm sorry again." I nod to her apology and she kisses my cheek good bye. I wipe it off the minute I close the door.
