Alex POV
December 23Ariyah and I are finishing packing to go to her parents for Christmas and New Years and I'm nervous. I know her parents and Crystal love me and approve of our relationship but I don't know any of her other family or how they will react to Ariyah bringing home a woman. Ariyah has told me her family is very open and so they won't care but it doesn't stop the thoughts.
"Baby are you ready?" Ariyah comes out of the bedroom in a white and pink Nike sweatsuit and air forces.
I'm wearing a matching set but in black. "Yes baby. I just can't find the car keys." I say searching for the keys underneath the couch cushions.
The sound of keys shaking makes me turn to my beautiful fiancé. "They were on top of your bags baby so you wouldn't forget them." Ariyah says laughing and handing them to me.
"Thank you baby." I kiss her and take the keys and we head out to her Audi. I open the passenger side for her and she kisses my cheek. I get in the drivers side and we head out with her hand in mine as she plays with my fingers. Oh right. Yes, I'm driving. I've gotten over my fear of driving. I still get a little anxious around intersections but with Ariyah by my side and distracting those nervous thought I forget all about it. Ariyah has been working non stop this week to prepare to be gone for a week and she's been exhausted so I told her I'd drive. It took a lot of convincing to let her agree though.
"I hope you aren't still nervous about meeting my family baby. I told you they're nice and open. We aren't a judging family. My parents wouldn't allow that kind of behavior anyway." She says honestly.
"I know baby but I'm the first woman you've dated, it may be still new and surprising." I say.
"You are so cute when you're nervous. They're going to love you." She kisses my hand and goes back to playing with it as we drive.
We make it to the huge black mansion that's gated by a gate that has the letter F on it and a security guard outside of it. "Hey Toni. This is Alex, my fiancé." Ariyah says leaning over me to talk through the window, to the Hispanic security guerd who is dressed in a suit.
He smiles. "Hello Ms. Fallon and Ms. Joiner, you're both good to go in." He buzzes us through.
We drive up to the house and it's like it gets bigger the closer we get. With grass greener then the actual color green, a fountain set in the middle of the clircled drive way, cars all parked in the color of grey or black, and security surrounding nonchalantly. I swallow and look to my fiancé who is smiling wide at her family home. "You're not like in the mafia are you?" I ask jokingly but very serious.
She looks at me and smiles. "Let's go baby. They'll want us to just walk in. Someone will get our bags." She says completey ignoring my question and getting out of the car.
I grab her hand so we can walk up the white stairs to a grand white door with gold handles. We walk in and I'm met with two sets of stairs that lead up stairs to probably 50 rooms and a grand chandelier of diamonds. "Baby." I whisper in my fiancés ear.
She turns to me and looks at me seriously. "Baby I'll explain later, let's go find my parents please." She says and kisses my lips softly but quickly to drag me to the den where Joseph and Alani are cuddled up onto the couch watching a documentary on lions. I feel like I'm walking directly into the lions den. "Hey guys! We're here!" Ariyah exclaims catching the loving attention of her parents.
"Oh my god don't you both look beautiful." Alani says hugging her daughter and then me.
"Hope the trip wasn't too bad." Joseph says next to Alani.
I shake my head. "No not at all sir. You have a beautiful home."
Alani touches her heart. "Thank you Alex. It's the family home. Everyone lives here, well not everyone." She eyes Ariyah who rolls her eyes.
