Flashback

Author's POV

"Jaemin, I am sorry," Taeyong tried his best to make up with his little brother but failed every time.

"I can't believe you forgot my birthday, hyung. I waited for so long for you."
With that, Jaemin shut his room doors, leaving Taeyong outside.

"Okay, what about a trip, just the two of us?" He said loudly in order for the upset boy inside to hear.

After a few minutes of knocking endlessly, Jaemin opened the door, clearly annoyed by his brother.

"Okay, fine, but where to? And when?" He asked, crossing his arms and tilting his head.

"Um, we can go to Jeju together," Taeyong suggested excitedly.

"I already went there with mum a few months ago," he replied, still glaring at the boy.

"Then what about the new amusement park that opened last week?"

"Yeah, that sounds good." Jaemin finally gave in to the idea and received a tight hug from his hyung.

"Now let me go, I can't breathe." With that, he broke the hug.

"I will make sure you will have a great time. "
Taeyong reassured his little brother.

The next day, Jaemin got ready first thing in the morning and was happy to see Taeyong equally ready.

Both of them hopped in the car and left for their destination.

"Hyung, I am hungry," Jaemin whined while rubbing his stomach. Taeyong tickled his stomach, making him curl up into a laughing ball.

"Don't worry, my guff ball. I got you," he said, smiling and pulled over near the closest subway.

Jaemin remained in the car and was watching outside. He saw a puppy with a broken leg struggling in the middle of the road.

He got out and went to help the pup.

He picked it up, but just then the traffic lights turned green, all the cars started moving, and he was stuck in the middle of the busy road.

His body froze when he saw a giant truck coming his way while honking like crazy.

He closed his eyes and felt being pushed by someone to the side and saw a person lying on the road when he finally opened them.

A crowd started to build up around the person, and Jaemin picked himself up to check who it was.

He repeatedly told his brain not to think of anything stupid along his way through the crowd.

'It's definitely not him. It's definitely not him,' he kept repeating to himself.

He felt his legs weaken as he fell on his knees, looking at the side of his face, body covered with blood, and no sign of life anymore.

His vision became blurry, and the last thing he could hear after that was a loud horn of the ambulance.

Because in the end, 'it was him.'

End of the flashback.
