Jaemin's pov
"Oh I almost forgot about him" Doyoung's response to her question was casual but it was enough to make him pause mid stride. He ordered a gaurd and minutes later, his gaurd entered, dragging a heavily bruised Chenle. With a callous show he threw Chenle in front of us.
My blood boiled at the sight of his battered face. Catching my eye, Renjun discreetly slipped a small key in my hand.
As Doyoung busied himself with selecting his next weapon , I quietly unlocked my handcuffs, the metal slipping off my wrist with a soft clink.
Without hesitation I lunged forward and landed a solid punch on Doyoung's face, the impact drawing blood from his lip.
He staggered, momentarily stunned. When he stabled he approached me barehanded, but I was ready.
I met him with a hard kick to the stomach, sending him stumbling backward.
Seizing the moment I grabbed his left arm and his collar, slamming him down onto the cold floor.
Memories of his twisted smile on my brother's funeral flashed through my mind, fueling the fury that drove every punch.
I hovered over him, punching him nonstop, I battered his face, leaving it bloodied and bruised, far worse than what he had done to Chenle.
In a surge of rage, I forced him to roll onto his stomach, pinning his arm behind him. I twisted his fingers back sharply, snapping one with a sickening crack.
A cry escaped his lips - the same lips that dared to taunt, the same fingers that dared to touch her.
Blinded by anger, I barely noticed the line I was dangerously close to crossing. He had tried to kill my brother to rip apart the people I held most dear.
The urge to finish him off, right here, right now, was overwhelming.
Just then I felt Y/n's arms wrap around me from behind. Her embrace pulled me back from the edge, her presence grounding me in the chaos.
I could feel my grip on him loosen slightly, though the rage still simmered just below the surface.
Meanwhile, Renjun helped Chenle to his feet, concern etched on his face. "Are you okay?" he asked, guilt evident in his tone.
Chenle steadied himself, giving a quick nod as he gathered his composure. "I’m fine. Just tell me what to do," he replied, determination in his voice.
Renjun was impressed by his resilience and returned the nod. Without hesitation, he grabbed the tablet from Doyoung's desk and handed it to Chenle. "I need you to get into this. It’s our only way to access the laptop," he instructed, his tone sharp with urgency.
Chenle quickly got to work, his fingers flying across the screen as he accessed the system. His hacking skills took center stage as he focused intensely, the adrenaline coursing through him amplifying every heartbeat, every ticking second. His head throbbed from what was likely a concussion, but he pushed through, ignoring the pain.
Ten long minutes passed, each second feeling like an eternity, but finally, he cracked the passcode. The safe’s metallic door gave a soft click as it unlocked, drawing their attention.
Renjun let out a quiet, amused huff, and Chenle exhaled a sigh of relief. They exchanged a quick, triumphant smile before Renjun stepped forward to retrieve the laptop.
Meanwhile, I delivered one last, forceful punch to Doyoung’s face, watching as he finally slumped into unconsciousness.
