ONE AND A HALF YEAR LATER

Laura sighed as she looked out of the window. The street was bustling with activity. Carriages were passing by, and children were running around and playing. Laura wished she could go outside as well. She had been stuck here all day. No one had told her she had to return to school if she would go with the Pevensie siblings.

She was currently in English class. Laura hated English class. Not that all her other subjects were better, but still. She didn't give a shit about Shakespeare and other literature. She wanted to be outside, adventuring. The only subject she liked was biology. At least they learned something about the nature outside. Chemistry was alright as well, mainly because her favourite teacher was teaching that subject. Plus those two subject were the only classes she had with Peter. She had been placed in the year below Peter, as she hadn't been to school in a long time. But since biology and chemistry were her strong subjects, she had been able to follow them on a higher level. Susan was one year below Laura as well, which meant she was all alone most of the time.

She had made one friend though, Ava. Laura had met her when Josh - the most infuriating and arrogant boy of their year- had tried to not-so-friendly hit on Ava. Laura absolutely despised that kind of boys, and had saved Ava from him. Since then Josh had made it his personal mission to woo Laura, but Laura didn't care. Her and Ava had warmed up to each other right away, and now they were best friends.

"Miss Campbell, are you still paying attention?" Miss Francis asked Laura. Miss Francis was a frail old woman, but she made up for her attitude. She was the most insufferable teacher of the whole school, and everyone hated her.

"Yes ma'am" Laura quickly answered. She couldn't afford to get send to the principals office again.

"Then tell me which year Shakespeare died" She asked, raising a perfectly sculptured eyebrow.

Laura cast a glance at Ava's notebook. Perfect. The woman may be annoying, but she was blind as hell. You could have your textbook next to you at a test and she wouldn't notice.

"He died in 1616" Laura answered.

Ms Francis' smile quickly disappeared. She nodded shortly, before continuing her lesson. Laura felt Ava nudge her. "That was a close one" She whispered. Laura nodded, before zoning out again. She absentmindedly twisted the beads on her bracelet. When she had returned from Narnia, she still had her bracelet. It wasn't magical anymore, and unfortunately couldn't summon any weapons, but Laura was still happy. Especially when she had found out there was a new bead. It was see though, and one long black hair was visible inside. Nightshades hair. Laura didn't know how Aslan had managed to do that, but she was forever grateful. Now Laura had always Nightshade with her. She still felt a pang in her heart wherever she thought about Nightshade. But it wasn't like someone stabbed her with a knife and twisted it anymore, now it was only like someone stabbed her.

Finally the bell rang, telling Laura she had been freed of this torture for the next 20 minutes. She rushed to put her books in her bag, as she was eager to find Peter. He always waited at her locker so they could spend lunch break together.

Laura quickly said goodbye to Ava as she rushed out of the classroom. Suddenly she felt someone grab her. She quickly spun around, yanking her arm free. If she was in Narnia, that person would already have been on the ground, but here those kind of things weren't allowed. Laura had found out the hard way. She took in the person before her. Great. That was the last person she wanted to see.

"Josh" Laura said through gritted teeth.

"Hello, darling" the devil himself told her with a not so flattering smirk. For normal standards, Josh could be described as handsome. He had a strong jawline, and his ripped muscles were visible through his tight shirt. He was the typical bad boy, and girls drooled over him. But not Laura. Laura didn't understand how none of the other girls didn't see his true personality. Disgusting.

"What do you want" Laura said, annoyance bottling up inside her. This boy.

"What I always want, darling. You." Josh answered, his smirk still on his face.

Laura heated up her glare a few levels, but Josh was one of the only people that didn't cower under her stare. Even some teachers were afraid of her, but not Josh. Just my luck. Laura thought.

"Let me be very clear, Josh. As I said before, you will never get me. Now if you will excuse me, my boyfriend is waiting for me." Laura said before turning around again. But she didn't make it far. Josh grabbed her arm again, and pinned her against the wall in one smooth motion. Laura's annoyance grew even further. These boys, thinking they were stronger just because they had more muscle.

"You act all though, darling, but I know you like me." Josh whispered. "We're the perfect match, and you know it. You're the baddest girl, I'm the baddest boy. We would be the hottest couple. Just ditch that Pevensie already. I know you want me

"I would rather kiss a pig's ass than date you" Laura spit, before kneeing him in his royal part, then punching him in the face and swiping his feet underneath him. Josh groaned in pain as he lay struggling on the ground.

"Oh, and Josh? I'm not your darling" Laura said with a sweet smile before walking off to Peter. This was the first time she had actually gone this far, but he had tested her patience. He had to be happy he wasn't dead by now.

Laura's annoyance faded when she saw Peter casually leaning against her locker, talking to Edmund. He smiled when he spotted her, and made his way towards her. Laura wrapped her arms around his neck as he wrapped his around her waist, and he kissed her deeply.

"I missed you" Peter said when they pulled apart again, a smile on his lips.

"I missed you too" Laura smiled back.

"Gross" Edmund said from beside them. Peter and Laura broke apart again, now looking at Edmund. Peter chuckled. "I'll speak you again one day when you have a significant other of your own"

Edmund had a look of immense disgust on his face. "Never"

"Yeah, that's what I thought too, and then I met Laura" Peter looked dramatically at Laura. "Next thing you know you're madly in love" Laura couldn't help but giggle. The disgust on Edmunds face grew even bigger.

"I'm just kidding, Ed. Come on, let's find our sisters" Peter told his brother, while treading his fingers through Laura's.

And as they walked down the corridors, while the two brothers were arguing about something stupid, Laura couldn't help but smile. Maybe she would live a happy life after all. One thing she knew for sure, was that she would do everything to keep her promise to Nightshade.

75 YEARS LATER

Laura Campbell looked peaceful. The only way you could see she was still alive were the constant rise and fall of her chest as she softly breathed. Even at the ripe age of 92, she looked beautiful. Family was gathered around her bed. Her five beautiful kids - three girls and two boys- and some of her grandchildren. But only her oldest grandkids were there, as Laura hadn't wanted her youngest grandkids to be there when she died. Her children all knew what was coming. They had known for three months, since their father had died in his sleep. They all knew  the burning love their parents had had for each other, even after being together for 75 years.

They all watched as Laura slowly slipped into the darkness of death. And as she blew out her last breath, they slowly started to cry, one by one. But Laura didn't see that anymore, because while she had closed her eyes in one world, she woke in the other. And while she had been 92 in one world, she was now 17 again.

And while her family was saying goodbye to her in one world, Laura was in the embrace of a certain black pegasus in the other, while a lion and a blond haired boy were watching them with a smile on their face. And in that moment, being reunited with the people she loved the most, The Guardian of Narnia had never felt happier.
