We celebrate Cynthias first birthday and I cannot help but feel bad that Bucky missed this. He has now missed two of his daughters first birthdays and will probably miss Lori's first birthday too.

Dia de los Muertos comes along and Aelynn has a celebration at school. I find it somewhat strange because it is not a celebration of the majority of the culture here. Throughout the day the hospital is full of extra spirits because of the people celebrating and it got on my nerves. I enjoy that they get to be around their loved ones again but it makes my job harder when they are all around standing in my way.

A few days after the celebration I am doing paperwork when I get paged to an OR. The head nurse is having a problem and she happens to be pregnant so me and Alex are ready for if something happens to the baby.

I scrub in and stand off to the side just in case I am needed. When the surgery should be done the woman starts to have more internal bleeding from something else. They decide that the baby and mother will be safer if they are separated so we do an emergency C-section.

Me and Alex make sure the baby is okay and once the baby is breathing on his own I take him to the NICU. He gets his monitoring equipment and the proper equipment to make sure he stays healthy and alive and I leave to go back to the other cases that I need to deal with. The nurse ended up dying unfortunately.

Today there is a massive wind storm. I ward my house and Evander agrees to keep the wards up at home. I vapor travel with my girls to the hospital and quickly go inside as the wind is getting horribly unsafe. I place the girls at the day care and pull Aelynn over. "You know what to do if you are in danger, correct?"

"Yes Daddy. Put a shield around all the people I can but make sure that me and my sisters are safe first."

"Good. Stay safe." I say before giving all my girls hugs and heading to the pit to help where I can. There are only about a third of the people that are normally here, here today so it is going to be busy for everyone here.

I get put on the smaller repairs that are still too complex for interns and other staff so we can get people out of the trauma bay as quickly and safely as possible. I see patient after patient mostly with small puncture wounds or blunt force injuries.

The power goes out in the hospital and I finish what I am doing before running up to the daycare because Aelynn has horrible anxiety attacks when she is left in the dark. I am stopped in my tracks by someone saying that doctors are stuck in the elevator.

I note in my mind that I can help them and finish making my way to the daycare. I can hear her fear filled sobs from the hallway and make my way into the room. "Aelynn darling, it is going to be okay. They will get the lights back on soon." I say as I scoop her up into my arms.

"Daddy." She says between hyperventilating and sobs. "It was like my dream. It was dark and I was all alone."

"I know it felt like you were alone but remember I can always find you in the dark." She presses closer into me and I let a little bit of my magic leak out to calm her.

He sobs are calming down with more time in-between by the time the lights come on. I tell the daycare people that I am going to keep her with me and head to where I can briefly power the elevators.

A arrive and let go of Aelynn's hand. I place my hand on the wires and allow enough electricity to go through. I hear the elevator stop and let the people out and the moment once everyone is out I cut the power off again and head back to work.

Aelynn stays glued to my side for the rest of the storm and stays out of the way for the other doctors that are trying to help people. No one has a problem with her being her as she is staying next to me and not causing trouble.
