Skià pov
Gideon has not contacted me since I stopped our courtship and I have not heard anything about his plans so I allow myself to relax a little bit. Dipper has developed a case of childhood feelings for one of the workers at the mystery shack, Wendy.
I am sitting behind the counter sorting the cash into stacks of a hundred when Wendy says it is quitting time and she is going to go hang out with her friends. "Wait maybe I, we, can hang out with you guys." Dipper says to her.
"I don't know, my friend are pretty intense." She says running her hand along the back of her neck. "How old did you say you two are?"
"Thirteen, technically a teen." Dipper lies.
"I like your gumption kid." She says before turning to me. "What is your argument?"
I just glare at her for a moment before speaking. "I refuse to be left behind."
"Are you going to bring your weird bird?"
"Of course. He cannot be trusted alone."
"Rad. Come on then." She says to us and I put the money away and lock the register before walking out after her leaving my siblings to follow. I get in the car and all of the teenagers look at me.
"What is a kid doing here?"
"Do you want to be threatened with death?" Bill says before laughing.
"I asked. Well technically my older siblings asked and I will not be left behind. And William what have I said about threatening people?"
"Technically I had not gotten to the threatening yet."
"Fair point but you are bordering the line and I do not like it." He puts up his wings in surrender and the teenagers look at me with what seems like respect or something of the sort. They seem less impressed when Dipper and Mabel get in the car though.
We ended up going to a convenience store that was shut down because both of the owners died inside. I seem to remember going here with Stanford a few times. I wonder what happened.
I am the first to hop the fence and start to look around the outside. It is more overgrown than the last time I saw it but that is to be expected as it was shut down. Dipper is the last to hop the fence as he takes some convincing.
The door is locked and Dipper volunteers to try and open it after one of the teenagers tries and Wendy calls him just a little kid. So he takes it personally and climbs into the building through the air ducts. It takes a few minutes but he successfully opens the door.
We all head in and I look around. As expected the ghosts of the people who ran the store are standing in the corner watching everything happen. I walk over to where they are while everyone spreads out to look at things. I watch them as they flip the open sign on the door to closed before talking to them.
"What happened?" I ask them as the lights are flipped on. They look at the lights before looking at me.
"Are you talking to us?"
"I am."
"We can tell you if you want."
"I would like to know, yes. Follow me I do not want to draw attention to myself." They do as I ask and I climb on top of the ice machine. They then tell me that at some point in the 1990's teenagers started to target the store and they ended up dying due to the crass words of a song that the teenagers were listening to. Apparently they each had a heart attack in shock. "I see."
"So now that teenagers are here we want to teach them a lesson."
"You can scare them but you cannot kill or trap them in any way."
"Why should we listen to you?" Bill laughs and I release a bit of my power over spirits. "Fine, we won't do anything to permanently harm or trap them." I nod and shift over to interact with the others.
I sit on one of the shelving units as they play around and wait for the ghosts to make their first move. The others do things like eat candy, make mint and carbonated drink reaction and stuff ice down the pants of one of the people here. They send Dipper to get some ice and I can tell the fun is about to start.
Bill starts laughing as Dipper runs back to the group in fear. He saw a floating brain and eyes in the freezer. He quickly tries to cover his fear though so he doesn't seem uncool and distracts the others with a game. They then make it so all of the people here look like skeletons in the reflection on the glass doors and only Dipper sees it again.
He tries to call Stan but he does not pick up so he goes over to Mabel who is high off of discontinued candy and gives him no help. Then he comes to me. "We have to do something grunkle Stan is not answering the phone and we are in a haunted convenience store."
"I know."
"What do you mean you know?"
"I know it's haunted, I saw the ghosts."
"Why didn't you tell anyone?"
"They are ghosts, they are not going to kill anyone."
"How can you be so sure?"
"They do not seem like the type." I say simply while shrugging and he sighs loudly before going to the others. They decide it is a great idea to lay down in the outlines of the bodies. And they end up getting Dipper to do it while yelling about how he is thirteen and technically a teenager. This causes the ghosts to up their games.
One of the girls is placed inside of her phone because she is texting. She is quickly moved to the security camera video though. One of the boys gets trapped inside a video game while he is playing it and another gets put inside of the image on a cereal box for being sarcastic. Clearly emphasizing their hatred of teens.
The ghosts close off the exit and one of them possesses Mabel which I am not super happy about but they are not hurt her so I let it happen for now. One of the remaining boys talks back and gets stuck as a hotdog in the hotdog machine. After that they make everything float and I calmly stay on top of one of the shelving units as it all happens.
The ghosts do not target me because I am both a child and they are scared of me so they torment the others but only in ways that will not kill them. Dipper gets up his confidence and tells them that he is actually twelve and they let Mabel go but keep everything floating upside down.
They then go on about how teenagers were such a problem when they were alive so they banned them. And then they brought rap and that is what killed them. Dipper asks what he can do to get the ghosts to let his friends go and they convince him that they will only let them go if he does a dance.
So Dipper ends up doing a cute little lamb dance and the ghosts let everyone go. I watch them as they put everything back on the ground, well more like drop everything. Then they look at me one last time before disappearing into the ceiling. After that we all get in the car and go home
