The Portal

We finally got the portal ready but it will take almost a day to fully prime and open to the dimension that Stanford is in. I made sure to calculate it to the exact dimension that Stanford fell into using the information from the last time it was open. After we start the portal priming we head upstairs to go to sleep.

In the morning Mabel wakes Dipper up at seven but I am already awake. She brings us downstairs and to a closet door. She opens it to reveal fireworks. Stan decides to let us set them off with him and then my siblings decide to have a water balloon fight while I go inside and read while checking on the portal to make sure that everything is still going well.

I am still checking the readings when I hear crashing above me. I extend my hearing and hear that Stan was arrested for stealing toxic waste from the government. I cannot believe that he got caught. He was wearing a suit the whole time. I hear them take him away along with Mabel, Dipper and Waddles. I suppose that I will not be able to leave. I frown as I hear them ask where I am before driving away when my siblings said that I went for a walk.

I hear Mabel and Dipper sneak back in and find their way into Stan's office. I hear them find the video footage from last night along with Stan's fake IDs but thankfully the camera did not show the vending machine so they did not see me. I sneak out of the basement and into Stan's office via a secret passage way and come out under his desk. I pop out and walk over to my siblings.

"It is not what you think."

"You know what's going on here?" They both ask Dipper acusitory and Mabel desperate.

"I do. And I can explain it all to you if you do wish but we should wait until Stan gets back."

"Why don't you call him grunkle?"

"Yeah, you haven't even once this whole summer."

"It will all be explained. Now we have to stay out of the way so we do not get caught until Stan gets out."

"Fine."Dipper says and Mabel nods so we sit in the office for a while longer. While we are waiting Mabel and Dipper go through the box of fake IDs and find the code to the vending machine that opens a door to the basement. I decide to let them follow the clue because we can always wait in the basement.

Soos is guarding the vending machine but Mabel types the code in over his shoulder and the moment the doorway opens Soos loses his fight and follows them down. I follow after and when we get to the bottom where the portal and computers are Dipper starts saying bad things about Stan. "He did not steal the journals okay?!"

"What?"

"He was given the first by the author and found the second."

"How do you know?"

"Did Stan tell you? How do you know he wasn't lying?"

"I was their okay! That is part of what I need to explain but I want to wait for Stanley!" I say accidentally slipping.

"Stanley?" Dipper says sounds defeated.

"Yes, Stanley. Stan is not Stanford pines he his Stanley pines. But he is still our grandfather's brother."

"Fine but at least tell me if this thing is dangerous." Dipper says pointing at the portal.

"Very but it has been properly contained so as long as nothing is messed with it will not cause a problem."

"Okay we can wait then but I expect a proper explanation."

"Yeah dude, this is crazy." Mabel nods along with both of their statements.

"I am aware." I say and we sit in silence until Stan arrives.

We do not have to wait long for Stan to run into the room. "What are you kids doing here?" He says looking at my siblings with concern and me with confusion.

"They saw the video of you bringing in the waste and found your fake IDs, which you should really keep in the basement. Also I slipped and called you Stanley so we have much to explain after we retrieve Stanford."

"Alright." He says slight guilt in his voice. He sits down at one of the desk chairs and I sit in the other as the countdown quickly approaches zero. I make sure to add the dampener so that the gravitational anomalies are less bad and the moment that the clock hits zero the portal powers up and Stanford emerges.

The moment he comes out I close what is left of the destroyed portal as Stanford yells at Stan. He punches Stan but once he notices the portal is closed he looks over to where I am sitting at the desk. "Can you tell us what is going on here now?" Dipper asks and everyone but Stan agrees including Stanford.

"Alright. Everyone sit down there is a lot to explain for the situation to be properly understood." They follow my lead and sit down.

"Wait before she starts, where is Shawn?"

"He died."

"But what about Bill?"

"What does that have to do with anything?!" Stan and Stanford start to fight again so I interrupt.

"I believe that what I have to say may calm your fears." They both look at me and I guess they agree to listen because they both quiet down. "Now then, let's start with what is going on right now for the unknowing parties." I carefully explain the portal and how Stanford, who tells us to refer to him as Ford, was stuck in an alternate dimension and how he is the author of the journals. I also explain how me and my siblings were Ford's great nieces and nephew.

"This doesn't explain how you knew about everything or why you were helping to open the portal." Dipper says when I pause.

"I am aware, I am getting to that. Along with why Bill is not a problem."

"But he was in grunkle Stan's mind."

"It will all be explained."
