Chapter 32

Chocolate

I gazed intently at my secretary as she placed the glass on my desk. I leaned back on my chair, with a pile of documents in front of me. I asked for coffee because another tough battle was about to happen.

I have many documents to read. No sleep again. I had just come from Tiago's house where we talked about the land, again.

I still have no plans for it. I'll have to think about it. I also don't want to follow Tiago's plans.

"Ito po, sir..." Mayenne said as I stared at her for a while.

I could see how her cheeks turned pink as I couldn't take my eyes off her. I bit my lower lip and raised an eyebrow. I smiled and peeked at her blushing face. Cute.

I chuckled and straightened up in my seat. I took the coffee she brought.

"Thank you," I said and smiled again.

Lalong namula ang pisngi niya at parang hangin na umalis ng opisina. I shook my head and just focused on what needed to be read. Ganoon ba talaga kapag gusto mo ang isang tao? Gusto ako no'n. Ang malas lang niya hindi kami talo.

I started working. I didn't waste any time to finish quickly and go home. I still have a lot to do in school. My professor knows that I have a job. There's no pressure when it comes to school.

I'm always here because I'm saving up. I need money, even though I already have some, I shouldn't let go of the opportunities coming my way. I don't want to lose it like before. It's good that it's rising again.

I didn't realize it was already lunchtime. I just had Mayenne bring my food because I won't be leaving the company. She just placed an order before entering my office. And like earlier, she still couldn't look at me.

I must be so mean for laughing at her.

As I opened my food, the door opened as well. I thought it was the secretary, pero si Tita Mary at Marcus, kasama rin si Tiago ang nakita ko. May dala silang bag na hindi ko alam kung ano ang laman.

Napabuntong-hininga ako at tinabi na lang muna ang pagkain.

I'll eat later, huh? I won't enjoy my lunch if our conversation goes this way again. I'm getting tired, but I don't have a choice.

The three of them entered.

"I told you we should have come later," Tita whispered to her son.

I got what she meant. What time is it anyway? Is it already noon or afternoon? I don't even know what day it is. Damn it.

"Eat, Yael. Don't mind us here," Marcus said and slowly sat on the sofa, carrying the bag.

Sa tingin ba nila may gana pa ako?

"Hindi na. Ano bang pinunta n'yo?" tanong ko na.

Tumingin sa akin si Tita Mary. She glanced at Tiago before turning her gaze back to me. I shifted my eyes between the three of them. Bakit kaya si tita ang sinama? Ano? Pagod na si Tito Arthur? Wala namang ginagawa 'yon!

I glanced at the documents there. Did I read it? I think so. There are so many of them that I can't remember. I can always have a look later in case I forget.
