"My friends, this is an historic Unity Day. Every year we mark the moment our ancestors of the 12 stations joined to form the Ark, but this is the last time we do so while aboard her. Next year, on the ground" The chancellor's voice cracked through the radio, while a blurry image of him showed on a screen.
The crowd on the Ark cheered for him. On the ground, it was a different story.
Miller scoffed at River's side. "Right. After we did all the work. Someone shut him up" He said, annoyed.
"You shut up, Miller. No one's forcing you to watch" Raven smirked.
River had only just been introduced to Raven a few days before, but she was liking her a lot already. She reminded her a lot of herself.
Besides that, River had also received a lot of other info the past days. Firstly, Octavia had told her that she'd helped the grounder escape and that his name was Lincoln. Then, Bellamy had gotten pardoned for his crimes, which River felt euphoric about. Unfortunately she hadn't been there when it happened, yet Clarke had: River made sure to thank her for it later.
"Whoo! Yeah!" Jasper yelled out loud. River looked over to see him running towards everyone with a big metal barrel in his arms. "Monty strikes again! We call this batch Unity Juice! Who's thirsty?!"
He received cheers from the crowd of party hungry people as they all came hurrying to get some alcohol.
River laughed to herself, shaking her head slightly.
"You look like you could use this" Clarke approached River, holding out a cup to her.
River took it with a smile before smelling it as she scrunched up her nose. Either way, she downed the whole thing shortly after.
Clarke raised her eyebrows at her. "Wow, you really needed that" She joked, putting pressure at 'really'.
"I guess I did" River shrugged her shoulders with a smile. "Are you okay, by the way? You know... after the other day with Dax"
