The Blake and Johnson sat in silence, letting the flames warm up their body from head to toe. Grounders were everywhere. Gazing to the left, and there would be grounders wandering around, same with right. It somehow managed to not make her as nervous as she used to. When first arriving at Earth and discovering that they weren't the only people there, River had been frightened of the grounders. So much so that just the mention of them made a shiver travel down her spine.

Although now, she felt almost comfortable for some reason. She was sure it seemed weird to other Sky People, why she didn't feel as scared in their presence as they might do. She didn't need to ask to know that her own people were still afraid of them. It was written across their faces.

The thought of Ash maybe having something to do with it had crossed her mind before. She knew him well, she would say. And therefore she knew he wouldn't do anything to hurt her. He'd even said it himself.

Octavia shifted in place, fiddling with a piece of grass she'd picked off the ground. Deep in her thoughts, she stared into the flames.

River was in the middle of sharpening some arrows she'd been given by Ash. He'd told her from the very start that she had a talent for archery and that it wasn't everyone that was able to hit a tree's middle within their first five tries. Her bow rested on her back as she gathered all the arrows and put them in a bag, that she threw around her shoulder.

"I'm gonna go check up on Marcus," River informed Octavia as she stood up from her chair with was just a log of wood. "I'll be right back."

Octavia nodded and proceeded to follow after her. River decided not to ask why, guessing she maybe had to see Lincoln or Indra. The two however didn't get far when they were called out for.

"Octavia, River," Lexa appeared from a tent nearby and approached the girls.

"Commander."

"Commander."

The grounder guarding Lexa spoke up. "It's time for the southernmost guard post rotation. You two should relieve them," he suggested, though it sounded more like an order.

River wondered why she all of a sudden was put on guard, which she'd never been before. Not thinking much more of it, she nodded.

"Indra expects me to be scouting mission with Lincoln," Octavia told them.

"And now you're needed at the guard post," The grounder replied, coldly, "Indra will join you there shortly."

With a slight hesitation, River and Octavia walked off to stand guard. At the last minute, River peered over her shoulder and locked eyes with Lexa — something was off, but she couldn't pin point what.

River's legs grew tired as they passed the fifth hour of standing guard. It was weird, cause at some point she'd sworn she saw a snippet of blonde hair; specifically Clarke's, or she guessed so at least.
