River's feet took her out into the gloomy night forest, the leaves beneath her feet rustling as she bolted through the forest. She didn't know where she was going — she didn't care. All she wanted to do was get away — far away from Bellamy.
To her unluckiness Bellamy had longer legs and therefore was much faster than her. She could hear the heavy thuds of his boots hitting the ground every time he stepped and his voice booming in her ears, begging her to stop. Tears poured down her cheeks, her breath uneven, making it hard to breathe.
"River, please stop! River!".
She didn't stop. It was only when Bellamy had eventually catched up with her and grabbed onto her wrist to physically stop her.
"DON'T FUCKING TOUCH ME!" River screamed in his face, ripping her wrist from him. She dashed forward to push his chest as hard as she could, "YOU CHEATING, LYING, SON OF A BITCH!".
River kept on hitting him, pushing him, and Bellamy let her.
"Look, River. I know what it looked like, but it wasn't like that, okay?! Raven wanted to get over Finn by hooking up with me and—" Bellamy tried explaining to her, yet she didn't accept any of it.
"STOP LYING!" she yelled, tears rolling down her face, "I saw you! You kissed her!".
Bellamy dragged a hand down his face, "No, I didn't, River! She kissed me! I even told her that I wouldn't, because of you!".
River scoffed, "Well, congratulations... do you want a fucking medal or something?!" she shouted, sarcastically. She sniffed, her face twisting up in hurt, "Did I ever mean anything to you or was I just another one of your little side kicks?!".
"No, no, River! I love you, and only you, okay?! You're my fucking everything! My whole damn world!" he screamed, desperately. The first tear escaped his eye, promised to not be the last. "I came to the ground for you! To protect you!".
"No, you didn't, Bellamy! You did it to protect your sister! Not me!" she yelled, turning on her feet. "And for the record, I can take care of myself!".
