The others came out of their tents in their pajamas, ready for breakfast, while Val was already dressed in her usual white button-up with the sleeves rolled up.
"G'morning..." Lyra grumbled.
"Oh, so you can be quiet..." teased Zeke as he grabbed an apple from his bag.
"Oh shut up, prick..." she responds while flipping a certain finger at the other.
"Calm down, you two... We need to get back on the road after we eat and get dressed." Chimed in Celeste as she handed her husband a granola bar.
The group sat and ate for a few minutes before getting ready and packing up camp, being careful not to leave any trace of them behind.
The group continued their way towards the centaur territory through the avian forests.
After a few hours, Celeste nudged Val's shoulder.
"You ok? You seem off..." The avian's brows furrowed in concern.
"Yeah... I'm fine."
"Are you sure? You just... It looks like you've got a lot on your mind. You can talk to us, you know?"
"I know... I just had a rough night, that's all."
Celeste shrugged her shoulders and walked back towards her husband.
Val let out a breath she didn't know she had been holding. Everything felt crowded in her mind - the discovery of the morning putting her off.
