After the day long journey, the group made it to the coast.
"So, Atlan, you have a plan, or are we just winging this?" Lyra slightly raised her voice over the waves.
"Celeste will fly above us in case someone goes under and to look for any threats," Atlan began.
"Our job is to beat the waves and swim around the border to get to the boats."
"Fucking great... always loved the beach..." muttered Val.
"I'll suggest any extra clothing or things that can't get wet can be taken by me," the crow started to gather jackets and bags.
"Let's waste no more time... Let's hit the road!" Atlan jumped in the ocean.
"The waves dumbass!" Called out Zeke as Lyra pushed him in, Val following behind.
After maybe two hours, the group was about halfway there.
"Is anyone else getting tired?" Lyra sighed.
"Let's keep going! Focus!" Cel called from above.
Meanwhile, Val remained at the back of the group; getting slower and slower. She felt like the ocean itself was pulling her down.
That is until it actually pulled her down.
Only Celeste noticed that Val had suddenly disappeared from the group.
"Val! Guys, where is she?" The avian called from the sky.
"She's right over - Oh shit!" Without a second thought, Zeke went under to try and find her.
"I'll go down with him. Lyra, stay up here in case she comes back up." ordered Atlan.
After the redhead nodded, the hornless demon followed the other into the water.
After maybe 2 minutes, the two men came up to the surface holding a limp Val.
"Is she breathing?!" Called Cel from the sky.
"Yeah! Just fine actually" said Atlan, baffled.
"What?" Lyra asked.
"She was under there for like two minutes!" She continued.
