The group continued searching for an exit in the labyrinth of halls until they found a fire exit door.
"I don't know, guys... I think it's an exit..." teased Zeke.
Theo had been barely conscious for the past five minutes, but even he let out an annoyed groan.
"Can someone fix my glasses?" The mage mumbled tiredly - his square glasses barely hanging onto his face.
Val quickly walked over to him and pushed his glasses up before walking away again.
"Thanks..." his face sinked into Zeke's shoulder.
"Well, well... If it isn't the rodents..." The blond man had a wide grin on his face as the group snapped around to face him.
"Val, do you think you could watch Theo?" Zeke began to lower Theo to the floor.
"Why me?"
"Just- Please..."
The researcher only sighed. "Fine."
"Thank you..." Zeke turned back to the man.
"I'd like to introduce you all to a very important friend of mine... I'm sure you've all met her..." The man's smile only became more sinister.
With a snap of his fingers, the red-haired hybrid emerged from behind a corner.
"This is Genesis! She'll be supervising you for now. Can't be too careful to make sure you don't play dirty..."
"Us?! You're the one kidnapping random people!" Lyra gestured to the group angrily.
"I believe the worst insult to my work is random. It makes me sound like I throw a knife at a list and take whoever it lands on!"
"Oh, and besides, it's not kidnapping when I have a warrant for all of you to be arrested."
"The fuck did we do?!" Zeke yelled at the man: his anger boiling over.
"Oh hush now, Mr Talley. You are well within reason to question your arrest after being given no information, but there is still no need for such harshness."
"How do you know my name?" The man questioned more timidly.
"What part of warrant do you not understand? All of you have birth certificates! You were spotted crossing different species borders multiple times and were easily tracked."
The group thought back to crossing the human-avian border, the avian-centaur border, and the centaur-mage border.
"Wait, then why is Theo here? He didn't cross any borders!" Celeste's wings spread out in annoyance.
"Due to his failure to report border crossing, Mr Dorado will also be charged."
"I've had enough of this..." Atlan's pearly eyes flared with anger as his hands balled into fists, and he swung at the blond man before being knocked to the ground by Genesis.
"Atlan!" Celeste rushed to her husband and helped him up.
"I did say she would supervise, Mr Skyfall."
"Lyra, get Celeste and fight Genesis. Me and Atlan will go for Blondie." Zeke whispered to Lyra.
With a quick nod, she whispered the plan to the avian and demon. With a quick glance back at Theo and Val, Zeke took off with Atlan while Lyra and Celeste split off over to the hybrid.
Zeke swung a left hook at the man's face, but it was quickly blocked, and he was thrown to the side while Atlan drop-kicked the man. Zeke returned to the fight and swiftly trapped their captor in a headlock.
This left Atlan to help fight Genesis with Cel and Lyra. With the demon's help, the three of them managed to knock her out while Val prepared to move Theo.
With a single roundhouse kick to the face from Lyra, 'Blondie' was also knocked unconscious.
Zeke quickly grabbed Theo from Val and ran off with the others out of the fire exit door.
