Lyra sat up abruptly when she heard the metal door creak open.

"Atlan!" She rushed over to him.

"Are you ok?"

The demon nodded.

"What happened?"

"I think these people are looking for someone close to V..."

"Who?"

"A man called Connor Quinn."

Lyra looked down, deep in thought.

"Her father maybe?"

"That's what I thought... They're also looking for Cordelia Marino."

"We don't know one of those..."

Atlan nodded, "Did you notice the kind of name?"

Lyra's head snapped up in realization, "She's a mer!"

"And possibly Val's mom..."

Val's spiral in her and Zeke's shared cell continued for a long time.

"Valerie Quinn, look at me!" Zeke grabbed her shoulders and turned her towards him.

"Talk me through this."

Val slightly nodded, her breathing never slowing.

"I don't know what's happening I just need to get out!"

"Ok. Ok... Do you have claustrophobia?"

"I don't know... I've never really been somewhere I can't leave."

"If it makes you feel any better, I think this is normal for you..."

"The fuck is that supposed to mean?"

"You're a half-mer. Fish tend to have the entire ocean to roam around in. Mers probably have a biological code that makes them more likely to be claustrophobic..."

"I didn't know you were smart!" Val teased.

"Really?"

"Cel... I really need you to calm down..." Theo quietly pleaded as the crow became more agitated.

"No... there's got to be a way out!" She banged on the cell door.

Theo tried to move over to her as best as he could with his chains.

"Celeste!"

This caused the avian to snap around in surprise.

"Oh. That actually worked..." The mage muttered.

"Look, if you can help me get these cuffs off, we have a decent shot at getting out of here..."

Celeste had significantly calmed down.

"How can I help?" She sat down next to him.
