The Avengers walked into the conference room to find a young blonde boy sitting on the edge of the table and playing on his phone. For a minute, they just stared at him. When the boy finally looked, he smiled at them and hopped off the table. He walked over to them and held out his hand.

"Hi, I'm Jason Grace," he said. "I'm your newest member."

The Avengers looked to one another, confused.

Steve hesitantly shook the boy's hand. "Steve Rogers," he introduced himself. "I'm Captain America."

Jason smiled. "I know who you are." Then he looked to the rest of the Avengers with polite interest.

Tony finally spoke. "Look, kid, you can't just show up here and claim to be an Avenger. That's not how it works."

Jason chuckled. "Don't worry, it wasn't my idea."

Before Tony could ask whose idea it was, Fury stepped forward. "It was my idea," he said. "Trust me he can handle it." Fury turned his dark gaze on Jason. "Show them."

"It'd probably be better if we went outside for this," said Jason.

Fury nodded and the Avengers followed him outside.

Once they were outside, the team turned their attention to Jason. Fury nodded at him.

Jason closed his eyes and a bolt of lightning shot down from the clouds. It struck Jason who didn't even flinch. The wind began to pick up and soon the blonde was standing in the center of his own personal tornado.

Finally, Jason opened his eyes and the weather returned to normal. He smiled at the stunned adults as if he created thunderstorms every day.

Clint let out an impressed whistle. "Yeah, he's on the team," he said.

Jason actually did pretty well on the team. It was as if fighting and heroing was a second nature to him.

One day when the team was hanging out as their normal civilian selves, they decided to go to a bar.

They had just left the bar when a figure came out of the shadows and put Jason in a headlock with a knife to his throat.

The Avengers were instantly on alert and had pulled out their weapons.

None of them could make out the features of the person so they couldn't tell if they were a friend or a foe. Though they were assuming foe.

The person let out a chuckle. "Isn't this cute," he said.

Jason rolled his eyes as if he found this whole situation merely annoying. "Y'know, Perce," he said. "If you wanted to scare me, you'll have to try harder."

The figure laughed. "That was never my intention, Jasey," he said, releasing Jason and putting a hand on hip. "But I still managed to scare the shit out of the Avengers." Jason once again rolled his eyes.

The person snapped his fingers and whatever shroud that had hidden his face was lifted. They could now see that the man possessed ruffled black hair and bright sea-green eyes. He smirked at the Avengers.

"Sorry for the dramatic entrance," he said. He held out his hand, the knife he'd had suddenly gone, "Name's Percy Jackson," he greeted. "I'm Jason's boyfriend."
