(part 2 to 'Um, Excuse Me, Lord Hades?')
Frank POV
I was walking on air when Nico shadow-traveled me home.
I had gotten the blessing of Hades himself to marry his daughter! I already had the ring (actually I'd bought it a while ago but that's not the point), so all that was left to do was get Hazel alone so I could propose.
"So, when are you going to propose?" Nico asked.
"Hazel loves to go out into the open fields at Camp Jupiter," I said. "and I was planning on taking her on a picnic and proposing then." I blushed at admitting my plan to my girlfriend's cold and intimidating brother. He was probably thinking that it was sappy and that I should do something else.
To my surprise, Nico's next words were. "Sounds like she'd love it."
I blinked at him. "You think so?"
He nodded. "You should probably get going with the date and the proposal."
"Why are you of all people telling me to hurry up and do all the romantic stuff?" I asked, giving the son of Hades a confused look.
"Because Piper, Jason, and Percy are on the other side of the door and will probably explode from excitement if you don't do it soon," Nico explained.
A small smirk crept onto the younger boy's face at the yelled "HOW???" that was most definitely Piper's voice.
I looked at Nico the same question written all over my face. He just shrugged and made a hand gesture that once again told me to get going. I took the hint and headed toward the door.
And yes, I did find Piper, Jason, and Percy on the other side of the door. All three had matching sheepish grins on their faces.
"Frank, where are you taking me?" Hazel asked, giggling.
"You'll see," I said, pulling her to the spot where I'd already set up the picnic.
Hazel gasped when she finally saw it. "Oh, Frank," she breathed, staring at the picnic blanket and basket that I'd already set up. "This is beautiful."
I blushed. "Well, I've been planning it for a while and . . ."
Hazel through her arms around me. "I love it!" she exclaimed. "Thank you so much!"
We sat down on the blanket and dug into the food I'd packed.
A few hours later (yes, we spent the whole day there), the food was gone, and Hazel was animatedly telling me about how she finally learned how to work a car correctly. I was so proud of her, and the emotion showed clearly on my face.
I'd almost completely forgotten about the ring in my pocket, which seemed impossible this morning. I was just happy to have Hazel with me.
But then I remembered it once she started twirling her car keys around her finger as she told me that she was going to try and get her license soon, and it immediately started burning a hole in through my jeans.
When she finally finished her story and stopped to take a breath, I decided to finally pop the question.
"Um, Hazel?"
"Yes, Frank?"
I swallowed hard trying to gather up my courage. Why was this so hard?
"I have a question for you . . ." I trailed off while subtly reaching my hand into my pocket.
Hazel raised an eyebrow in that adorable way of hers, and I nearly melt right then and there.
Finally, I worked the ring out of my pocket and held it out in front of me. "Will you marry me?"
Hazel's eyes went wide, and a huge grin broke across her face. She launched herself into my arms. "Yes, yes, yes, and a million times yes!"
(A/N: Ya know what? Forget Romeo and Juliet. I want what these b!tches have.)
