The next morning, Reece woke up and was caught by surprise when Marjorie wasn't laying next to him. He picked up his phone and checked the time. '6AM.' Marjorie is never awake and out of bed this early for work. He got up out of bed and headed downstairs. He headed towards the kitchen and spotted his girlfriend sitting on a stool, typing away on her laptop.

"Early for you." He said while approaching her, rubbing his eyes. He placed his hands on her shoulders, kissing the side of her forehead.

"I couldn't sleep, so i thought i'd finish these reports." She said looking up at him as he stood on the opposite side of the table. "Good morning by the way."

Reece watched her go back to typing on her laptop, he was debating whether or not he should ask her about last night. "Marjorie?" He started.

Marjorie looked back up at him, judging his facial expressions, she knew what he was about to bring up. "Yes, my love?"

Marjorie's usual chirpy tone made him question whether or not he should ask. One side of him wants to understand, but the other side doesn't want her to have to think about it again. He quickly realised that he was lost in his own thoughts, he came back to reality and saw Marjorie still looking at him. "Do you want pancakes?"

Marjorie was caught off guard with that question, she laughed and told him "yes." She was expecting him to question her about last night, but in a way, she's glad he didn't.

Reece turned around and grabbed all the ingredients to make the pancakes for his girlfriend. "Can I help you?" She asked, knowing what the answer would be.

"Yeah, no." He said while looking down at her and raising his eyebrows. "I don't have a death wish." He joked. Marjorie is not the one to be trusted unattended in a kitchen.

Marjorie rolled her eyes and laughed, she got up from where she was sitting and connected her phone to the speaker in their kitchen. Reece looked over at her and smiled. She started quietly playing music from her phone and walked back over to Reece. She always tries to dance with him as he's cooking food. "Marjorie stop it." He said while shaking his head.

She smiled and wrapped her arms around his waist, her head resting on his back as he prepped the food. Seeing Marjorie happy made Reece happy, and even though he was concerned for her because of last night, he realised she wasn't going to talk about it. So instead of questioning her, and possibly ruining her mood, he left it. For now.

Over an hour later, they had both finished their pancakes, gotten ready for work and Reece had just dropped Marjorie off at her nursery. Reece pecked her on the lips as he knew he'd be back to give his girlfriend her daily coffee. On the drive back from the coffee shop, he started to think about last night. What could have possibly gotten Marjorie to react like that?

Reece quickly brushed those thoughts away as he got out of the car and approached Marjorie's office, he knocked on the door and walked in, handing her the coffee. "A heart today?" Marjorie smiled at him. Reece loves to draw random things on the lids of her coffee cups.

He softy smiled, "have a good day, I love you."

"I love you too." She replied back, watching him walk out of her office. Over the years, she had lost her shine and almost faded, but having Reece by her side was a constant reminder that she still had that spark in her.

As Reece was about to leave the nursery, he spotted Charlotte getting out of her car. Just the person he wanted to see. "Char!" He called out to her, grabbing her attention.

She smiled at him and rushed over to him. "Hey Reece, how are you?"

"I'm good, i've actually been meaning to text you, i need to talk to you about something." Reece and Charlotte had gotten quite close lately, even though she's dating his ex girlfriend. However, he'll always be happy for her, and the same goes for Mia as well.

"Oh? What is it? Is everything okay?" Charlotte asked him, showing a concerned look on her face.

"Everything is okay.. I think?" He started. "It's about Marjorie.."
