Marjorie sat in her car with her head leaning on the steering wheel, she felt awful. Reece didn't try and chase after her, he wanted to leave her have time to herself. Marjorie started searching her pockets, searching for her phone, she realised that she had left it inside, but she wasn't going back inside to grab it. She started the engine and drove off, debating who she could go to, Charlotte or Autumn?
While Marjorie was driving, she was trying to push back her tears as hard as she could, but sometimes she couldn't stop them from falling. As she pulled into her friends driveway, she took a deep breath and turned the engine off. She knocked on the door, waiting for someone to answer.
"Marjorie?" She spoke, looking at her face and noticing she's been crying. "Why are you here? Are you okay?"
"Autumn, i'm so sorry for showing up unannounced." Marjorie's tears started to fall down her face a bit more, she was hurt, and she felt bad, she didn't know who else to turn to.
Autumn stood there and looked her up and down, Autumn felt bad for Marjorie, she hadn't seen her this upset since she found out Reece and Mia were back together. "Come in."
Marjorie followed Autumn into the house while shutting the door behind her, she sat down on the sofa next to Autumn. Autumn broke the silence between them both, "what happened?"
"I got into an argument with Reece, but i regret everything I said, and then i stormed off." Marjorie started to cry into her hands, Autumn didn't know how to comfort her properly. Autumn will forever see Marjorie like a sister, with or without Reece in the picture, she hated seeing her like this.
Autumn gently placed one of her hands on Marjorie's shoulder. "It's okay." She kept repeating to her, but Marjorie continued to sob into her hands. Autumn looked around the living room, trying to figure out a way to help her. "Will you be okay here if I go make a phone call quickly?"
Marjorie nodded in response. "I'm so sorry, Autumn." She mumbled into her hands, not being able to stop her tears from falling.
Autumn stood up from the sofa. "Don't be. It's okay, i'll be back." Autumn casually responded. As much as she felt bad for her best friend, she'd never let it show in her tone of voice. Autumn walked up the stairs to grab her phone, she was about to call someone, before Winter walked in. "What the matter, my love?"
Autumn stopped what she was doing and smiled at him. "I'm calling Reece, to let him know that Marjorie is here. I know he'll be worried about her."
Winter tilted his head. "Marjorie's here? Why is Marjorie here?"
"They got into an argument, and i'm guessing it hurt her, so it looks like i have some telling off to do as well." Autumn replied. "Now, if you'll excuse me." She walked off into the other room.
Winter stood at the top of the stairs thinking to himself. He loved Marjorie, and he didn't like the fact she was upset. He then walked down the stairs, peeking his head into the living room. He saw Marjorie sitting there, she was silently sobbing to herself while playing with her necklace. He couldn't help but feel bad for her, so he slowly walked towards her, and joined her on the sofa. "Marjorie?" He spoke.
"Hi winter." She replied, not looking up from her hands playing with her necklace. She had calmed down, but tears were still falling out of her eyes.
Winter studied her for a second, he hated seeing his best friend like this. He lifted up his hand and places it on her back. "Do you want a hug?" He asked.
That question caused Marjorie's eyes to fill with more tears. She felt like she couldn't speak, so she nodded in response and immediately wrapped her arms around Winters neck. Winter kept one hand on her back, slowly rubbing it as she cried into his shoulder. He could tell she needed this.
Marjorie pulled away and wiped away her tears, she looked up at Winter and smiled. "Thank you."
Winter smiled back in response, he looked down at her shaky hands. "Do you want to talk about it?" He asked.
Marjorie leaned back on the sofa. "Me and Reece got into an argument." She started. "It all started because he lied to me, about being with Charlotte. And then apparently he was worried about me, and then I said some things I wish I never said, and it was obvious we were both angry, so I left the house."
Winter took in everything Marjorie said. "Can I be honest with you, Marjorie?" He asked, Marjorie nodded in response. "First of all, he shouldn't have lied to you, you had every right to be mad or upset at that. But, I feel like you and Reece need to communicate more." Marjorie stayed silent, waiting for Winter to continue. "I don't know a lot about Reece, but from what I do know, he spent half of his life around people who didn't care about him, and now he's found someone who showers him with love, it's probably different for him. I guess he goes to Charlotte because he's scared of saying the wrong things to you, and he doesn't want to risk losing you."
Marjorie shook her head. "But i'd never do that to him, i'd never leave him because of his childhood, he should know that."
"Deep down he knows that Marjorie." Winter spoke again. "However, maybe it's the reassurance he needs. Which is why you both need better communication with each other."
Marjorie took in everything Winter said, he was right, they were never going to be near perfect if they didn't start talking to each other. Marjorie looked up at Winter and smiled. "Thank you, I think I needed this conversation with someone."
"I'm always happy to help you, you're never alone when me and Autumn are around." He placed his hands over Marjories. "We love you so much, even if it doesn't feel like that sometimes, but we do, we will always look out for you."
Marjorie smiled. She felt her shine starting to come back after she heard Winter say that sentance to her. "I love you both too."
While Winter and Marjorie were still sat downstairs talking, Autumn was upstairs in their bedroom, trying to get through to Reece. He finally picked up the phone. "What, Aut?" He was clearly still annoyed.
"Marjorie's here, thought I should let you know." Autumn heard Reece let out a quiet sigh of relief over the phone as she said that. "Is she okay?" He asked her.
"No, she isn't." Autumn spoke truthfully to him. "When you've calmed down, can you come here and talk to her? She needs you."
Reece went silent, hearing that his girlfriend wasn't doing well while he wasn't around made his heart ache. "I'll be there soon." He spoke, and then hung up the call.
