Marjorie and Reece both arrived home. Reece walked over to Marjorie's car and took her hand as she was getting out. She smiled to herself and they headed inside.
Marjorie immediately headed to the sofa and sat down, while Reece quickly locked up the house. He hung their keys up and then joined Marjorie on the sofa. They both looked at each other for a second. "I really am sorry." Marjorie started. "I didn't mean to blow off on you like that. And I said somethings i probably-"
"Marjorie-" Reece tried to get her to stop apologising, but she didn't listen. "-Shouldn't have said, and i feel awful. And you're right I do-" "Marjorie!" He tried again, but she continued to ramble. "-Shut you off, and i shouldn't do that. All you do is care for me and-" Reece realised she wasn't going to stop rambling until she got her point across, so he gently placed his finger underneath her chin, lifted her head up to face him and kissed her.
The kiss caught Marjorie by surprise, she pulled away. "Why did you-" Marjorie tried to speak again, but Reece cut across her. "Please stop apologising, my love. I just want you to talk to me."
Marjorie shrugged. "About what? There's so much I could talk about." She then leaned back on the sofa, one of her hands fiddling with the her necklace. "I get it, you're worried about me, but i don't even know where to start."
"I'm not asking for you to tell me everything right here, right now." He took Marjorie's free hand and placed it in his. "I just want you to talk to me, whenever you're upset, whenever you're angry, whenever you feel scared. I want to be there for you, and help you, but you have to let me."
She took in everything Reece said, she knew he would never judge her for her past. But there was always a little voice in her head saying that everything was her fault, the reason how she is now is her fault. And she hated those voices, but they always won over her everytime she tried to open up. She looked back up at Reece, both of them locking eyes with each other "I'll try. I promise."
Reece smiled at her. He placed his hand behind her neck and slowly pulled her in, kissing her forehead. "That's what I like to hear. Also, I am sorry about lying to you about being for lunch with Charlotte, I should have told you."
"Thank you, but it's okay." She smiled. "I love you."
"I love you too." He placed another kiss on her forehead. Reece then got up and headed to the kitchen. As Reece walked off, Marjorie sat back on the sofa and got lost in her own thoughts. 'Should I show him?' She thought to herself. Many scenarios were running through Marjorie's head at this time. "Marjorie?" She was quickly snapped out of her own thoughts.
She quickly turned her head over to Reece standing in the doorway. "Yes?" She replied.
"For the third time, do you want me to make you pasta?" He asked. Marjorie stared at him for a second, third time? She released quickly she can get lost in her own thoughts. "Marjorie?"
"Um yeah- can I show you something?" She stumbled on her words, her mind was in two different places right now.
"Of course you can." He started walking closer towards her. He released Marjorie was lost in her own thoughts again. "What is it, my love? You know you can show me anything."
She quickly blinked, remembering what she asked him. "Right, yeah." She then stood up, brushing her hands over her skirt. "Wait here." She then headed up the stairs, she heard Reece shout a faint 'okay' as she walked up.
She opened the door to their bedroom, stepping towards her wardrobe. She started moving around all her shoes that were placed at the bottom of the wardrobe. She then pulled out a box. It was purple, pink and blue, with stickers scattered all over it. She dusted off the top of the box and took a deep breath. She stood up again, taking the box downstairs with her. She walked back in the living room, Reece still standing in the same spot but he was playing on his phone. When he heard Marjorie enter the room again, he looked up, immediately spotting the box. "What's that?" He asked.
She walked in front of the fireplace and sat down, placing the box in front of her. "Come sit." She said to him. He narrowed his eyebrows and sat opposite Marjorie, waiting for her to speak.
"This is a box, filled with letters, diaries, photos and drawings from my childhood."
