A few days had passed since Marjorie went public about Terrance and what had happened to her. She received so much love and support from all her staff members and the parents. A few parents were quite irritating about it, however Autumn was right by Marjorie's side to sort them out.
Over the weekend, Reece took Marjorie out on a weekend get away, so she could relax and step away from everything that was happening in the nursery. Reece had been so supportive towards her ever since she spoke up about everything. He was very patient with her, and did everything he could to make her feel comfortable.
As Monday came along, Marjorie was back in her office and she did feel a lot lighter walking around. For a long time she had felt a huge weight on her shoulders, she would have to fight that weight daily, trying to not get dragged down by it.
Marjorie was sat at her desk, catching up on any emails she had missed out on over the past few days. She was dragged out of her own thoughts when she heard the office door open.
"Marjorie." The blonde spoke as she walked in, placing herself in front of Marjorie's desk.
Marjorie tensed up for a second, straightening her posture. "Siobhan." She replied, coldly. Marjorie and Siobhan had never gotten along, and Marjorie was scared that Siobhan was going to rip into her for what she did last week.
"I just wanted to personally let you know." She paused for a second, watching Marjorie tense up in her chair even more. "The company have decided to let Terrance go."
Marjorie let out a breath she never knew she was holding, she relaxed her shoulders a bit, but she still kept her posture straight, thinking that Siobhan was about to say more.
Siobhan quickly realised that Marjorie wasn't going to say anything else to her, so she spoke up again. "I'm sorry, that you had to go through that." Siobhan added.
Marjorie was confused. Siobhan? Feeling sorry for her? Marjorie struggled to find her words for a second. "Thank you." She practically whispered.
"I know we don't always see eye to eye, Marjorie." Siobhan started, tilting her head at Marjorie. "But, no one deserves to go through that. And i'm sorry that he was still able to walk around the company after everything."
The last part made Marjorie heart sink, the realisation kicking in that Terrance had never really left her alone during all the years she'd worked here. She quickly snapped out of her own thoughts and looked up at Siobhan. "None of you knew, it's not your fault. I'm just happy he's gone now."
Siobhan slightly smiled at Marjorie, she looked at her for a second and admired how brave and calm she was during all of this. She quickly dropped her smile and headed back towards the office door. "Anymore concerns, do let head office know."
Marjorie nodded. "Thank you, Siobhan." She slightly smiled. She'd never had a 'nice' interaction with Siobhan before.
Siobhan quickly nodded at Marjorie and then headed out the office, shutting the door behind her. Marjorie then leaned back in her chair, thinking to herself about what the hell just happened.
As the day went on, Marjorie had finally arrived back home. She had showered and changed into her pyjamas as she waited for Reece to finish making their food. She quickly headed into the kitchen and wrapped her arms around Reece's waist, resting her head on his back. He smiled and slightly turned his head. "You okay, Marj?"
She let go of Reece and sat down in front of him on the kitchen counter. "I'm okay." She smiled. He stopped what he was doing and placed his hands on her thighs, slowly making his way up to her waist. "I've had some thoughts." She said.
Reece raised his eyebrows. "Thoughts? What thoughts?" He curiously asked.
"After coming forward about Terrance, it made me feel like I had this huge weight lifted off me." She started. "Knowing that he's gone, and knowing that everyone knows the type of person he is, it feels like closure."
Reece stepped closer to Marjorie and smiled, he slowly tightened his grip around her waist, making her feel safe and secure as she spoke. "Remember that invite you got? To my mums anniversary?" She spoke, and Reece nodded.
"I wanna go." She said, causing Reece to slightly raise his eyebrows. "You wanna go?" He asked.
"Yes. I need closure with that family." She said confidently. "I just want to speak to them one last time, give them my peace."
Reece smiled, Marjorie opening up to Reece about what she thinks will help her heal makes him feel proud, and he'll forever stand by her side during the process. "Looks like we have a celebration to crash."
