Two weeks had past since everything had happened. Everything had quieted down for Marjorie, which she was happy about. She was currently sat at her vanity curling her hair, getting ready to crash her parents anniversary celebration. Reece walked out of the bathroom, struggling to put his tie on. He stopped for a second and looked at his girlfriend. "You look gorgeous in green, you should wear it more often."

"Thanks." Marjorie replied, finishing up the final parts of her hair. "My mother hates green."

Reece couldn't help but laugh, she's doing everything in her power to get under her mother's skin. He started fiddling with his tie again. Marjorie quickly brushed out her curls and drew her attention to Reece, she paused for a moment. "Need help with that?"

Reece stopped for a moment, looking at her. "No, i'm good." He replied. Reece would never admit to needing help. Marjorie softly laughed and stood up, walking towards him. "Come here, let me help you."

Reece rolled his eyes and took his hands off the tie, letting Marjorie fix it for him. He was shocked when she manage to fix it in the matter of seconds. "How did you do that?"

Marjorie stepped back and winked at him. "Magic." She sarcastically replied, causing Reece to roll his eyes again. "What time are we leaving?"

Reece picked up his phone and checked the time. "Um, shouldn't be too long, just waiting on Winter and Autumn to arrive here."

Marjorie raised her eyebrows. "Winter?"

"Yeah." He laughed. "He said he physically could not miss you humbling a bunch of rich people in front of a huge crowd."

Marjorie laughed. "Of course he did, he's always one for drama." She then sat on the bed, putting her heels on. "How are we getting home?"

"I'm driving." He said sitting beside her, wrapping his arm around her waist. "I need to make sure i'm sober just in case anything bad happens to you."

Marjorie playfully rolls her eyes. "Nothing bad is gonna happen to me, don't worry." She looked up at him and places a kiss on his lips.

About 15 minutes later, Autumn and Winter had arrived. They had headed into Reece's car and were already on their way to the celebration. They kept going around in a circle telling stories about the worst interactions they've ever had with parents. As Reece pulled into the car park, Marjorie looked up and realised that everything was becoming real, she felt her entire body fill with anxiety.

All four of them stepped out the car, Autumn and Winter linked arms, walking behind Marjorie and Reece as they headed towards the entrance. Reece looked down at Marjorie and saw her biting her nails, he took her hand in his. "Are you okay?" He whispered.

Marjorie snapped out of her own thoughts and looked up at Reece. "It's just weird seeing this type of setting again. But I'll be fine, I promise." She smiled at him.

They headed up to the entrance, the security guards quickly checking their invites, and then welcoming them in. Marjorie stood in place for a second, taking everything in. "Jesus christ." She muttered under her breath.

Winter quickly brushed his hand over Marjorie's shoulders, gesturing for her to move forward. They walked along the long corridor and then entered the hall, they all sat at their table.

All four of them looked around at the setting, it was a very posh and formal themed celebration. There were many people around them, however one person immediately stood out to Marjorie.

Her mother. Standing a few feet away from their table. Greeting the guests as they peacefully sat down at their tables.

Marjorie gently slapped Reece's arm to grab his attention, he turned his head to immediately look at her. "That's her!" She said, also grabbing Winter and Autumns attention.

"I think she's... slowly heading over here." Winter said, as all of them continued to watch her get gradually closer.

And then it happened, she was standing face to face with everyone at the table. "You guys must be the Knights?" She said, clearly faking a smile, causing Marjorie to scoff. "It's lovely to have you here. No sign of Roger this time?"

It was awkward. The siblings kept looking at her, then each other, then back at Marjorie. "No. Not tonight." Reece finally spoke up, awkwardly laughing.

"Oh that's a shame." She smiled again. "Nice to see you've brought plus ones though." She quickly glanced at Winter, giving him a quick smile. She then turned her attention to Marjorie, who was looking her dead in the eye.

Amanda didn't smile at her. Her face immediately dropped. She tilted her head, her eyes quickly scanning down her body. "Marjorie?"

Marjorie leaned back in her chair, folding her arms together. "Hello, mother."
