Eliana

I look up and straighten my posture as I recognize the face.

It's the man from earlier. What's he doing here?

"Hi," he smiles.

"Hello," I reply hesitantly.

"I'm Fynn." He extends his hand for me.

I look at him with a risen brow, my expression speaking confusion.

As if he could read my mind, he says, "I haven't introduced myself properly."

I look at his hand for a second before holding it with mine. "Eliana," I smile.

"Eliana," he repeats, shaking my hand. "Pleased to meet you Eliana. May I sit?"

"Sure."

He takes a seat, lowering his backpack to the ground, "you're reading the Bible, I see."

I look down at my Bible before meeting his brown eyes again. I nod.

He takes out a book out of his backpack. "I read it too," he smiles, laying his Bible in front of him.

My eyes light up, "you do?"

"Of course, Jesus is very important you know."

"He is," I say, looking directly into his eyes with awe.

For a moment we just stare at each other.

He breaks it with looking at my hands, which are resting crossed in front of my chest on the table. "I see no ring," he says, looking back into my eyes.

"Why would I wear a ring?" I tilt my head to the side. "I'm not married. Well, not yet."

"Oh, so you have a boyfriend?"

"No."

"Fiancé it is then." He looks down on his Bible, leaning his back against his chair.

"No."

His eyes jump up to mine. "No?" He repeats.

"No," I shake my head.

His eyes soften and his shoulders loose all the tension that came within the last few seconds. That's... Odd.

"I see", he almost whispers. "And what did you then mean with 'Not yet'?"

I try to collect my words. "I'm waiting for God's perfect timing."

"I see," he nods.

After a moment of eye contact he interrupts it, "sooo, you reading Corinthians."

"I am," I admit.

"Which verses?" He asks.

"1 Corinthians 13:13," I reply.

He opens his Bible and turns over the pages to the verse.

"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love," he reads out aloud.

He shakes his head. "It's so true," he whispers.

"What is?" I ask, knowing exactly what it means. But I want to know his interpretation of it.

"Well, all these three are important. Equally important. But none of them can exist without love. Love holds a human together. Love gives them a reason to stay alive. Love saves the broken soul of a human. Love..." He meets my gaze, his eyes glowing in their brown colour, "love is Jesus. It's Jesus." He smiles so content and peaceful and gentle all together.

"I know," I can't help but smile.

"You know?"

I nod, "I wanted to see your interpretation and woah, I couldn't have said it better." I tuck a blond strand of hair behind my ear, moving closer to the table. "Today in the morning I read 1 Corinthians 13:4."
