Nicholas looks at his sister who is in the state of drunken stupor. She’s been gazing in the air and making weird noises trying to contain her leaking emotion. She’s been red and purple along the way which scares Nicholas a bit.
“Sis, we are here.”
“Ah? Ah..Ohhh… I’m home?”
“Yeah. Are you alright?” He leans forward and touches the back of his hand to her forehead.
“You have a light fever.”
“I do?” She touches her neck and sighs.
Covering her face with her hands.
“I’m so useless.”
“What? Why? What actually happened?”
Nicholas frowns.
Amara looks at Nicholas with a sigh.
“Your sister is helplessly in love with the wrong man. My taste is so high.”
“I think I have seen Martin’s car. Did you meet him? Did he say something to you?”
“Hmm..Just told me he has a business dinner. Anyway I’m tired. I’ll go and rest. You go home safely.”
“Okay. Rest well. Text me if you feel like you’ll get a fever, okay?”
Amara waves at him as she walks to the door.
“Okay, I’ll text you. Be careful on your way home.”
Amara sluggishly walks to the stairs.
“What kind of walk of shame is that?”
Amara turns around and sees Lucas with a glass of water in his hand.
“You are still awake? How is school anyways?”
She asks, trying to fix her posture.
Lucas sighs.
“I didn’t get a suspension and the parents even apologized to me purposely. Of course the apology is not for me to hear but to show to dad. Dad said their family is collaborating with one of our company’s branches.”
He shrugged his shoulders.
“You still have to be punished.” Amara sighs, rubbing her forehead.
“Don’t hit others just because you don’t like them or what they told you. If you can avoid them, avoid them. Only fight if it’s the last resort.”
“Tsk. Why do you keep repeating what dad said? You all sound like a broken recorder. Plus didn’t I get punished already?” Lucas clicks his tongue remembering his father’s punishment.
“Isn’t it because you don’t seem like you understand? It’s just right. You won’t learn if there are no consequences to your actions.” Amara rolls her eyes.
“I am not feeling well so I’ll go to my room first.”
“What is wrong with you? Are you sick?” Lucas asks the following from behind.
“Hmm….Love sick?” Amara jokes.
“Be serious.” Lucas frowns.
“I think I caught a cold.”
Amara pouts. “It’s your father’s fault.”
“What did he do?”
“He makes me feel hot and cold and hot.”
“....can you not pollute my innocent ear with bridal jokes?” Lucas raises a brow.
“What’s a bridal joke?! Ah? No.no.no.. That’s not what I mean. He just….It’s because….urgh..My head is spinning. Forget it. Don’t ask me. My heart is weak. I’m just a girl despite my ugly look.”
