‘Lucas is dumber than I thought.’

Leon realizes that though Lucas has more social interactions, his social cues are lower than normal and in front of their mom, he was even more hopeless.

“I never said you are!” Lucas uses his shirt to wipe Amara’s face.

“What I meant is gazing! You gaze on me like I am the only thing in the world! You crazy witch! Your eye magic is scary!”

“Why are you getting mad? Aren’t you consoling me?” Amara gapes at him.

“No! You are so spoiled!” Lucas angrily said.

“You are so old and I still have to console you for misunderstanding me?! You should be begging me not to get mad at me!”

“Who taught you how to be a gaslighter?” Amara pouts.

“And did I stare so much? Isn’t staring like that creepy? Am I creepy?”

Lucas shut his mouth and glared at her.

Amara looks at Stephen.

Stephem smiles.

“No, you are cute.”

Amara ignores him.

She even rolled her eyes.

She looks at Leon.

Leon looks startled to be stared at.

“I…I want Mom to look at me like that too.” Leon said shyly but hurtfully.

He was the kindest and they are very close. She touches his forehead and calls him cute but why does she not stare at him like that too?

Amara felt the wording sounds awfully wrong.

“Don’t. She will put a hex on you.” Lucas said, folding his arms.

Leon glares at him.

“So only you and dad will brag that mom stared at you ?”

Lucas blushes.

“I am saving you and you are mad at me?”

“You are just bragging!”

“I am not!”

Amara thinks this issue is not as scary as she thinks. 

“Okay. Stop fighting.”

“Mom! Stare at me too!”

Amara laughs.

“You twins are a riot!”

Leon smiles.

At least she stops thinking about Stephen.

Lucas sighs too.

‘Do we always have to look like a clown to protect this family?’ He glances at Stephen who is now absurd in staring at their stepmom undisguised. ‘This bastxrd don’t even hide it anymore! Aren’t you here because you are worried about us? Why are you staring at someone like you are doting on your pet?’

“If he is not a relative, murder is an understatement.” Lucas whispers.

Leon pinches his side.

Stephen already left when Martin came home from work.

“Stephen stayed until late? Why didn’t he stay till dinner?” Martin said smiling but the twin abruptly turned their heads to look at him with a flabbergasted expression.

Amara didn’t notice because Martin is smiling and his voice is normal.

“Yeah. I invited him but he strongly rejected it. You two didn’t fight right?”
