Guo Ying had noticed a change in Wei's emotions during the past few weeks, he was more settled and his depression was leaving him. Some nights he slept through until the morning while on others he would still wake up crying, but they were becoming much less.

While Yunlan was on his way to work today, he was attacked by a thief who ran out of a shop and stabbed him because he was blocking his way, but Yunlan wasn't very far from the office and carried on walking, knowing that Chu would treat the wound for him when he arrived.

"What were you thinking? You should have gone to hospital and had someone check how deep it was and look for other damage." Chu was angry with his lack of self care.

"But isn't that what you're doing now?" Yunlan asked.

"That's not the point, how far did you walk while you were leaking blood in the street?" Chu asked as he watched Yunlan try to figure it out.

"It was the tobacconist at the end of the road, and I was closer to here than the hospital," Yunlan said as he tried to defend himself.

"That's what ambulances are for, or a taxi. That was almost a mile away. You don't move for the rest of the day, you sit, rest and drink tea, Daqing will look after you, no argument, your doctor has spoken."

So for the remainder of the day, Yunlan was not allowed to move out of the chair in the office that he was now sharing with Chu, while Daqing constantly brought him cups of hot sweet tea, until it was time to go home. When he tried to stand, he felt a mild ache in his right side from his wound which he expected and was tired, but apart from that he felt fine, but very surprised when Guo Ying walked in and closed the office door. Ying could see the change in Yunlan's appearance but it was how he normally looked after a day's work except more tired than usual and his colour was fading.

"Chu phoned me, I'll take you home, you're not walking anywhere, he was furious with you, so tonight you stay in."

"No Ying, I can't, Shen Wei slept all through last night and the night before, tonight he could wake up and I need to be there to talk to him. I'm only sitting in a chair, and the wards around his flat are strong enough to keep anything out, I promise I won't move from the seat."

Yunlan won the argument because Wei was improving, and Ying teleported him home where he changed out of the blood stained shirt and into fresh clothes before dinner. Ava watched him eat and knew that he wasn't well. She offered him some frozen fresh fruit which he gladly accepted and wolfed down.

"You're ill Yunlan, your temperature is up, stay in tonight please." Ava asked him after everyone had left the kitchen.

"Ava, I promise not to move and drink cold water during the night. Usually if Wei wakes up, he's only awake for less than an hour and then drifts back off to sleep, Guo Ying can come and fetch me and then you can nurse me back to health, I promise."
