Wei didn't have very many things to bring back from his flat so he arranged with Ying to use the guards while he helped Yunlan to stand and held him firmly as they teleported to the mansion and carefully guided him to rest in bed.
"Are you alright, do you need anything?" Wei asked as he watched him trying to adjust his position to sit more comfortably against the pillows.
"Stop fussing, Shen Wei, I'm fine." he answered as he laughed but stopped when his side ached. "Why don't you go and speak to Ava, she missed you terribly."
Wei nodded and left the room but he was nervous about meeting her again. He hadn't seen her for a while and wasn't sure how she was going to react. He couldn't handle over emotional people just yet, but Ava always surprised him. She seemed to know what was right every time, so when she saw him approach the kitchen, she did nothing and waited until he came to her. She wrapped her arms around him and held him quietly for a few minutes before she released him and stared into his eyes.
"You look tired my boy, did you not sleep last night?"
"No Ava, it was a rough night. Yunlan's temperature rose and Ying summoned a healer for him, he had a few nightmares, but he seems better now. He's upstairs in bed, and has less pain, but you'll need to feed him lots of iron. He lost alot of blood from the wound." Wei explained as Ava smiled back at him. Wei had returned to the mansion, for the first time in almost two years, and her heart leapt for joy.
Upstairs in the bedroom, Yunlan was trying to remember what he was dreaming about last night but it was all mixed up. He remembered the fire but it didn't burn him, which was strange and it was all different colours, but quite beautiful. Wei kissed him in the middle of the flames and he wasn't afraid or hurt. The more he thought about it, the more he remembered ... Wei had kissed him deeply with a full show of emotion ... Yunlan felt his heart beat increase as his stomach turned over. He wanted a drink of water and was becoming breathless as he swung his legs over the side of the bed to stand, but when he tried to move, his nausea, dizziness and pain all happened at the same time and he tried to protect his wound as he fell forward and closed his eyes. When he became aware again, he found himself lying on the floor, watching as a pair of shoes was walking towards him before he felt himself being lifted and gently put back into bed. Wei covered him up and sat at the side while he talked to him.
"What were you trying to do? You could have hurt yourself badly if you weren't so lucky. Are you alright?" Wei asked and saw tears forming in the corners of Yunlan's eyes as he reached out to touch the side of Wei's face.
"The fire last night ... you're not hurt?" He asked with concern.
"No, your flames would never hurt me." Wei answered softly while he waited for the next question.
"My flames?" Yunlan asked while Wei watched the confusion in his thoughts and immediately understood that he didn't know that he had that ability.
