Yunlan's temperature had come down but he was still very agitated, because the drug the medic had used was opening up new channels in his mind and giving him nightmares. Wei had only dozed for an hour in the chair beside his bed when he was awoken by Yunlan arguing in his sleep. He was very restless and calling out to someone, but they never answered, and Wei could only watch and wait until he settled again but he didn't. He suddenly became engulfed in flames and Wei scrambled across the floor to get away from the danger, before he remembered the fire his last partner could ignite in the palm of his hand, but it was nothing compared to the strength of this storm. He stood up and came closer as he reached out with his fingers, but there was no heat while the flames curled and danced around them. Yunlan would never hurt him, and he took his courage in both hands and sat on the side of the bed, joining him in the vibrant inferno and able to see the room from a different perspective, through a living prism of light.

Yunlan slowly opened his eyes for a moment and gazed towards Wei and thought he was still dreaming with the feel of Wei's soft lips pressing as he explored his mouth, but a sharp spike of pain caused Yunlan to cry out and he gripped his injury while the flames turned fiery red which worried Wei, and he spoke softly to him.

"Yunlan, stop your flames and rest, there is no danger here."

Wei stayed where he was watching as the fire slowly died down before the flames went out, and  looked to see if Yunlan was awake but he wasn't. He must have drifted off back to sleep. Shen Wei carefully moved Yunlan's hand away from the wound to check if there was any leakage but it was minimal and he remained peaceful for the rest of the night. Wei moved over to the window seats and managed to get some sleep.

In the morning the stubborn person in the bed woke up and tried to move, but a sharp pain shot through his side and he curled up as he bent his knees trying to ease it, while Wei watched him from across the room and then came over to him.

"How are you this morning?" Wei asked as he looked at the tears on Yunlan's face which had escaped when he felt the sting in his side.

"I'm alright," he answered but he was holding onto the wound to stop the discomfort he was trying to hide.

"Zhao Yunlan Jun. That is the first lie you have told me, don't make a habit of it." Wei answered sharply as he sat down on the edge of the bed and used a damp face cloth to wipe Yunlan face as he watched his tense expression, which showed his pain and he had to admit how he felt, as he looked at the professor who preferred the truth.

"I can't move without severe pain in my side. I think I need something to stop it before I can get out of this bed, sorry." Yunlan said and expected some kind of reprimand, but it didn't happen.

"I'm going to help you with that, but it might be a bit uncomfortable to begin with. Hold on for a couple of minutes and keep your hands out of the way." Wei said quietly as he moved the cover down and lifted Yunlan's t-shirt to expose the dressing as he directed some healing energy towards the injury. Yunlan tried to curl up even more as he felt the stinging discomfort and suddenly gripped Wei's arm, digging his fingers in as he held his breath.
