Daqing never reported the crime but someone else did, an anonymous caller who wanted his work to be seen before he visited the nearest hospital to have his face treated and he watched it on TV while he waited for a doctor to examine his wounds.
Lin Jing was ordered to report to Chu's office and find Detective Zhao Yunlan Jun who had disappeared and couldn't be contacted to deal with this urgent situation, therefore Jing was next in the chain of command. He wasn't given any details about the incident at the museum, but a sealed report would be waiting for him on Chu's desk. The governor was trying to keep as much information out of the press as possible but some television reporters were already at the museum fishing for details, and Jing realised that there must have been a major incident, but where were the guards? Usually they were able to hide occurrences and no one ever knew that anything had happened, but not this time, and Jing smiled and waved to the office staff as he arrived and closed the office door before he sat down to read the sealed report.
The more he read the slower he became until he stopped, and couldn't take it all in. Chu's body had also been discovered but there was no mention of Daqing, therefore he must have escaped and he was alive somewhere. There were only five guards, and then he remembered that the sixth was at the university, and would he know? Jing dived at the phone to speak to Guard Li but it rang for a long time before anyone answered, and they informed him that one of the tutors was unwell and they were sending him to hospital after he'd collapsed in front of his class.
This is not good, Lin Jing thought. If the doctors took blood from Li they would find out that he was not from here, and this situation was becoming worse by the minute, but first he would have to face the office staff and explain. Jing opened the door and walked with a false confidence towards the coffee area where he took his time as he tried to organise his mind about what he was going to say, when he suddenly felt the cold breeze coming through an open window and hoped beyond hope that it would be Yunlan.
The plateau on Mt Kunlun was showing signs of severe frost which was coming from the anger of Black Robe, and no amount of talking was calming his temper. Yunlan was vaguely aware that he had been roughly teleported back to the city and was dumped outside his office, but he wasn't strong enough to walk without help and leaned against the outside wall, waiting until his balance had returned. Jing almost dropped his coffee in haste to find out who had come to help and found Yunlan who looked ill, and aided him as he staggered inside to sit down. Jing had led him towards the nearest seat which was amongst the staff who were shocked when they saw his condition.
"Do they know yet?" Yunlan asked Jing nervously, because if he was here, then a report had been sent and he would know everything.
"No, I was just about to tell them, shall I continue?" Jing asked and Yunlan nodded as he sat quietly and listened to the official report of the six bodies found, with Chu being one of them. The staff were too quiet, no one knew what to say as they looked over to Yunlan for some help to deal with the situation, but he waited for Ying to address them.
