"Shit!"

Leni was startled when the door banged. She was woken up. She opened her one eye to see who it was. "Dahan-dahan naman mare." She said.

"Bumangon ka na dyan. Dalawang araw ka ng hindi umuuwi sa bahay mo! Anong akala mo sa'yo ipapamana 'tong ospital? Gagawin ka bang DOH Secretary?" Janice bawl out, her two hands resting on her hips.

Janice rolled her eyes, she pushed Leni to the other side of the bed to make space for herself, "Mare naman, ayusin mo nga yang sarili mo. Ang chaka mo na."

Leni bowed her head. She's been staying at the hospital for two days now ever since her argument with Bongbong.

"The last time na ganyan ka is nung iniwan ka ni Bongets." Janice dropped.

Leni looked at her with that realization.

"Hindi naman masosolve ang problema nyong dalawa hanggat hindi kayo nag-uusap ng maayos, hanggat hindi ka umuuwi." Janice said.

"Wala naman na kaming dapat pag-usapan pa, mare. Wala din naman kaming relasyon in the first place. I'll just wait until umalis sya sa bahay." Leni said, she made up her mind.

"That plan is soo lame!" Janice commented.

Leni rolled her eyes. "Ano pala ang dapat kong gawin, sige nga?"

"Umuwi ka. Harapin mo si Bong, mag-usap kayong dalawa kahit sa anong paraan, habang magkapatong kayo, habang umiinom kayo, kahit sa anong paraan basta mag-usap kayo. Ask him why he ghosted you para mawala na yang tinik mo, and if you accept his explanation, at mahal mo pa sya, edi go!" Janice advised.

Janice held her hands, "I don't know, mare. Hindi ako ang makakasagot ng mga paano mo. That's why sinasabihan kita na umuwi para malaman mo."

Leni rested her head on Janice's shoulder, "Tingin mo ba minahal talaga ako ni Bong?"

Janice smiled, reminiscing their college years in the US. "Hindi ka naman siguro yayayain ng kasal kung hindi diba?"

"Hey!" Enrique went inside Leni's office to check on her.

"Hi!" Leni smiled upon seeing him.

"You coming home?" He asked after seeing her arranging her clothes in her bag.

She nodded. "Oo eh. 7:30 na din."

"Let's grab dinner, libre ko!" He uttered.

She looked at him, remembering what they've been talked about last time. She held his both hands and stood in front of him, "You're a good man, Chief."

He smiled shyly, "Thanks."

"And you deserve someone who'll be good to you as well." She continued. "I've been contemplating these past few days, and narealize ko na dapat pala matagal ko na 'tong sinabi at ginawa."

He waited.

She exhaled deeply, "I can't be with you. Not in this lifetime, Chief."

He bowed his head.

She gripped his hands, "I'm sorry that I lead you on for a very long time. I gave many mixed signals. I flirted with you. I'm sorry."

He nodded, avoiding her eyes.
