Leni finally arrived in Naga going straight to her first engagement. She was glad to see some of her friends in the city as they catch up a bit. She was with some local officials, private organization partners, school administrators, parents, faculty, and students as they were about to do another groundbreaking ceremony for their dormitory project. She then went to the podium as she delivers her speech.

"Magangang araw po sainyong lahat!" She greeted. When she was about to speak again, her phone rang loudly. She frowned to see who it was — Janice. Everyone was confused of the sudden interruption. Leni ignored it anyway. "Hindi po ako sasagot ng phone calls sa gitna ng speech ko, mahirap na."

Everyone laughed, many of them cheered as they get what she meant. It was about the controversial phone call she had with Bongbong past few weeks ago. She then continued with her speech, thanking everybody who made the project possible.

After her speech, she went back to her seat. She glanced at her phone to see Janice's 17 missed calls. She frowned but decided to call her back after the event.

Apple went to Leni's side the moment she reached her seat and whispered something on her right ear. "Maam, bumalik po yung plane ni BBM sa base dahil nagka-problema po yung plane."

Leni's body became stiff after hearing that. It felt like a bucket of cold water was poured on her. Her heartbeat was racing in fear and anxiety. She turned her head to Apple. "Nasaan sya?" She was in the verge of crying.

"Naka-take off na daw po ulit as per Janice. Tumatawag daw po sya sainyo." Apple said, careful of her choice of words knowing how sensitive her boss was.

Leni finally realized why Janice was calling her earlier. She didn't know it was an emergency concerning Bongbong. She just thought Bongbong would like to talk to her if she landed in Naga already.

Leni held her chest, clasping her blouse a bit tighter. "C— can we um call them? Call him, Apple, please. Please." She whispered, begging.

Apple nodded, unlocked her phone and dialed Bongbong. Leni's heart broke the moment it stopped ringing. Apple called him once again but after 5 attempts, he still didn't respond. She then tried calling Janice but she's not answering as well.

Apple can feel Leni's heavy breathing, the tears forming on her eyes, and her hands tightly gripping her blouse.

"Apple, please." Leni whispered, trying not to breakdown. "I need to talk to him, please. Please."

Apple nodded, she knew it was urgent. She tried calling Janice once again, but she didn't succeed. She then called Lyka but all of them are not answering. She looked at Leni with deep sorry.

Leni tried to breath normally but she cannot do so, not until she heard his voice, not until she knew he's okay. "Is he okay? Apple, please. Do something, please."

Apple knew how stress her boss was. Leni was the calmest person she knew so seeing her in that state, makes her nervous too. She's also aware that they're in a public place plus Leni has a heart problem so Apple tried to be calm as well. "Ma'am, gawan ko po ng paraan. Try nyo lang po huminga ng maayos, maam. Hahanap po ako ng paraan."

Leni nodded. She can feel her hands shake.

As the event continued, Leni tried to be calm and act normal in front of everyone. She feel like fainting given the sudden surge of anxiety brought about the news about Bongbong's plane, the heat from the sun, and the fact that she didn't get the chance to rest after her MNL-NAG flight. She tried to smile anyway.
