"Ma?" Emi had a confused look for her mom. She wanted to make sure that her assumption was right.
Leni composed herself and drag Emi out. "Let's go home."
"Leni, wait!" Bongbong ran after them. He was able to reached the parking area just outside the door.
"Pero ma—"
Emi was reluctant but her mom was holding her wrist tight. "Sa bahay na Imelda!" Leni said which Bongbong heard.
Emi pouted, she knew her mom was angry by calling her real name. She went inside her mom's car, pouting.
"Leni, let's talk!" Bongbong held Leni's arm.
"Don't make a scene, Marcos!" Leni's teeth gritted. She's trying not to shout.
He sighed, trying to calm himself after what he just learned. "Emi is my daughter, am I right? You named her after my mom."
Leni can feel her heartbeat raced upon hearing that question. She wanted to deny it but there's no sense in doing it. Besides, Emi knows their story. "Yes."
His heart melted the moment he confirmed that they indeed had a daughter. "And?"
She frowned. "And what?"
He was teary. "And? What now? I mean, I'm here, Leni. I want to be Emi's dad."
She snorted. "Naririnig mo ba sarili mo? You're here now? Now?! 13 years old na ang anak ko tapos ngayon sasabihin mo you want to be her dad?! Ang swerte mo naman!" She turned around and walked towards her car.
Emi was just watching them.
"Leni, please!" He said. "I'm begging you!"
She stopped.
He had hopes when she stopped and turned to him once again.
"Len—"
She cut him off. "Isa lang ang gusto ko, Marcos."
"What is it?" He asked, ready to give it to her.
"I want the divorce certificate." She said making him stoned. His world crumbled down.
"That's a different story." He sighed. He doesn't want to talk about it.
She frowned. "How is that became a different story?! Ang tagal tagal ko ng hinihintay yun until now wala pa rin."
He frowned. "Bakit ba gustong-gusto mo makuha yun?!"
"You know why?!" She dared. "Kasi yung anak ko hirap na hirap na dahil sa mga taong paulit-ulit na nagtatanong kung paano ko sya naging anak kasi magkaiba ang apelyido namin—"
He cut her off. "Why? I mean, she's a Marcos —"
"Of course not!" She cut him off.
He gasped. "What?!"
"What do you expect?! Na pagkatapos nating pumirma ng divorce papers ipapangalan ko sya sa'yo?!" She exclaimed. "Divorced na tayo nung nalaman kong buntis ako, hiwalay na tayo nung pinanganak ko si Emi so anong sense kung magiging Marcos ang apelyido nya?!"
"Anong sense?" He smirked. She frowned. "Let me clear things up, Leni, I never signed any divorce papers."
Her eyes bulged. This can't be happening. "What do you mean?" She asked softly, afraid of hearing the truth.
"We're still married." He said simply.
"You're kidding, right?" She tested.
He shrugged, confident of him telling the truth.
