"This might be the worst schedule ever." Y/n groaned dramatically as she stared down at her class list.

She had potions first on every Monday and last on every Friday.

"I'm afraid it just got worse." Dina cringed pointing to a familiar group of boys nearby.

"Yes, we have potions first today!" Marcus Flint cheered as he compared his schedule to Adrian Pucey's.

"Kill me now." Y/n mumbled to herself.

"I'm sure there'll be someone good in your class!" Lucy comforted as she patted Y/n's shoulder.

"Maybe..." She grumbled now in a bad mood. "I guess I'll find out now."

After a brief goodbye and good luck from her friends, Y/n trudged towards the dungeons. It was certainly not how she was hoping to start her third year. It didn't help that she and Snape did not exactly have an amicable relationship. As she made her way through the door she picked a random chair at an empty desk hoping someone she liked would make their way there.

Right as she thought that, Marcus Flint and Adrian Pucey made their way through the door. They started to pick out seats when Marcus noticed Y/n and smirked before strutting towards her. He tried to grab the top of the chair next to her, but Y/n interrupted him.

"This seat's taken. Sorry, Marcus." Y/n fibbed with an apologetic smile.

His face fell momentarily before the cocky look had replaced it once again.

"Oh yeah? By who?" Marcus questioned back, not believing Y/n.

"By uhh-" Y/n paused looking for someone to save her when the perfect person walked in the room. "George! George is sitting here." Y/n smiled with mock politeness before waving George over to her.

George, down one twin, looked confused but walked towards her nonetheless.

"You're sitting next to me, remember?" Y/n asked with a desperate look to play along with it in her eyes that only he could see.

"Well of course!" George exclaimed sitting down dramatically in the chair next to Y/n.

Marcus just scoffed and walked back to where Adrian was before whispering something in his ear.

"Sorry if I stole you from Fred. I just needed a reason for that git to not sit next to me and you were the person who walked in the room." Y/n shrugged with a guilty expression as she scanned the room for a lonely Fred.

"Actually Fred and I don't have this class together." George answered making Y/n feel better.

"Maybe Professor Snape will actually get your name right now." Y/n joked making George chuckle.

Much to Y/n's chagrin, Marcus Flint had yet to give up and was walking their way with Adrian in tow. Y/n audibly groaned and put her head down on the table. George started to ask what was wrong when he also saw the two boys coming over.

"Can't these two idiots take a hint?" George whispered to her.

"They can't take a hint they don't want." Y/n sighed.

Adrian Pucey and Marcus Flint sat down at the desk behind them. Marcus was directly behind Y/n.

"Hello Students." Snape drawled monotonously. "Today may be your first day, but seeing as you are third years I will not be starting you easy. I have higher expectations for you and there will be consequences if you disappoint them."

Y/n and George exchanged uneasy eye contact at the mention of that.

"Today you will brew the Girding Potion. The Girding Potion serves the purpose of prolonging one's endurance." Snape explained and continued to go over how to make the potion before beckoning his students to make it themselves.
