Summer had been amazing.

Y/n and Hermione enjoyed their break from the chaos of Hogwarts and spent most of their time outdoors.

Hermione loved to lay out under an umbrella and read while Y/n listened to music and soaked up the sun nearby. They went on numerous picnics in a grassy field near their house. Sometimes the two girls would just go on walks to get out of the house.

Over the break, Y/n frequently wrote both Lucy and Cedric. She missed her friends dearly and appreciated that they missed her too. The three would constantly exchange updates on what they were doing and how they had been. Other than that, Y/n hadn't really heard from anyone.

She didn't expect a letter in return from Dina because of how strict her house was, but the lack of a letter from Harry did surprise her a little. Y/n assumed he had a strict family like Dina's, but she couldn't help but worry.

"Hey Mione?" Y/n broached the subject one day.

"Yes?" Hermione prompted her to continue though she was paying more attention to her most recent literary obsession.

"Could you write a letter to Ron for me? I'm curious to know if he's heard anything from Harry this summer or if he also hasn't received anything." Y/n continued, watching as the wheels turned in her sister's brain.

"A letter to Ron?" Hermione questioned nervously. "I suppose I could do that."

Y/n smiled knowingly and thanked Hermione.

Luckily, it only took two days for them to get a response from the boy. Hermione tried and failed to play it cool when she saw the letter which made Y/n laugh. They decided to open and read it together.

Hermione and Y/n,
I haven't heard from Harry all summer. Blimey, should we be worried? I bet that muggle family of his has him slaving away. What should we do?

P.S. My mum wants me to ask if you two want to stay at the burrow for a few days before the start of the term

"The burrow?" Y/n looked curiously at Hermione.

"I believe that's their house." Hermione explained before realizing that meant they had an invitation from Mrs. Weasley to stay with them.

"Well, I guess we should ask mum and dad if we can." Y/n added also in a little bit of shock.

The conversation was a little awkward as the Granger sisters had to explain who the Weasley's were, who Harry was, what the burrow was, and convince them that their family was full of very nice and trustworthy people.

However, it seemed like they got through to their parents who wrote a response for Y/n and Hermione to owl back. After a little back and forth chatting between Molly and their mum, the two had come to an agreement and even seemed to become friends.

Their mum and dad would drop off the two Granger girls at the Weasley house in the afternoon. They would spent the next two nights there and go shopping for school supplies the other day spent with the Weasley's.

Now, Hermione and Y/n were excitedly sitting in the car with their parents on the way to Devon, England. Hermione was wearing a cute short sleeve top and white shorts. Y/n had helped her pick out her outfit and pack her clothes for the short trip. Y/n herself had been nervous about what to wear and pack. She ended up wearing a pastel tank top, a long flowing white skirt, and a matching white headband.

"Woah..." Y/n muttered as the burrow came into view.

There was a pen of pigs near the house, luscious rolling fields of grass, and the most perplexing yet beautiful house she had ever seen. It looked like there were six floors all in a wacky order. There were poles that held up the upper levels. Looking at the house felt like looking at the riskiest game of Jenga.
