It was 1991 and Hermione and Y/n stood in front of the brick wall ready to enter Hogwarts together this time. Hermione would be a first year and Y/n a third year.
Hermione was 11. She had her hair combed neatly and wore a smile so bright it could cause a nuclear explosion. Hermione held her books close to her chest and looked up at her older sister almost to ask her if this was real.
"No, you're not dreaming right now." Y/n laughed knowing exactly what her sister was thinking.
Y/n had grown over the summer and was beginning to mature into a beautiful young woman. Her curly hair was down but pulled back at the top with a cute butterfly hair clip on the side. Her cherry chapstick made her lips look pinker and she had started to wear mascara.
"Are you ready?" Y/n asked Hermione.
"Completely." Hermione responded with a twinkle in her eyes.
On the count of three the two girls barreled into the brick wall before going through it and coming out on the other side. No matter how many times they did it, it still scared the daylights out of them.
"Look out for your sister, okay?" Mrs. Granger said while Mr. Granger held her close.
"I will mum." Y/n rolled her eyes lovingly as she pulled her parents into a hug.
"Oh we'll miss you girls dearly. I don't know what we're going to do with ourselves at home now that we're alone." Mr. Granger confessed trying to hide his teary eyes.
"Dad.." Y/n and Hermione both awed before pulling him into a hug.
"Okay okay, we won't hold you two back anymore. Go on, have fun and stay safe!" They yelled as the two sisters walked away.
"I'm so excited for you Mione! Now, I'm gonna be in a compartment with Ced, Lucy, and Dina so you can come find me if you need anything." Y/n rambled as they made it onto the train.
"Can't I sit with you guys?" Hermione sighed nervously, pulling at the bottom of her robes.
"As much as I love your company, the first train ride is a great time to make friends! Just try and find some people your age okay Mione? If you can't my friends love you like you're their sister too and you can always join us." Y/n explained pulling her sister into one more huge hug before encouraging her to go off on her own.
"They grow up so fast..." Y/n whispered to herself before ducking into the compartment her friends were in.
"Y/n!" Lucy shouted excitedly as she jumped up to pull Y/n into a tight hug.
The two had become best friends over the past couple years and were basically inseparable.
"I missed you so much, Lucy." Y/n replied hugging her back even harder.
