Y/n Cordelia Granger lived a happy but simple life in the suburbs of London with her parents and younger sister, Hermione, until her 11th birthday. As the day's sun beamed overhead, the young girl was covered in its light that glimmered with the pro...

All across Hogwarts it was turning into fall.
The trees were barren and beneath them the ground was coated with an ombré of orange and red leafs. There was a chill in the air more than usual and students began to wrap themselves with scarfs and gloves. In the great hall, among the candles there were jack-o-lanterns hanging from the ceilings. People were always huddled around fireplaces talking and having fun.
Despite the cold, Y/n could hardly be caught inside her dorm. The second she marked the beginning of September on her calendar she had begun to decorate her dorm and plan her costume for Halloween. Her spirit had only ramped up leading to the day itself.
It had been her favorite holiday since she was a wee girl after all.
At the moment, her friends were all eating breakfast and chatting. Well, they were trying to, but Y/n had other plans in mind.
"So Y/n I was thinking we could all go to the black lake on Saturday?" Dina proposed.
"Yeah." Y/n responded absentmindedly as she sketched in her notebook.
"Y/n?" Dina questioned.
"Mhm, sounds great." Y/n hummed and Dina just rolled her eyes realizing Y/n wasn't listening at all.
"You're secretly a cat." Dina stated nonchalantly.
"Yup." Y/n replied making Dina groan in frustration.
Lucy's pity eventually outweighed her amusement and she pulled the pencil away from Y/n who pouted in response.
"Don't give me that look, Y/n. You need to listen to Dina, and don't try to tell me you can listen and sketch cause you just agreed that you're secretly a cat." Lucy chastised.
"I was just thinking we could go out by the black lake when everyone's at Hogsmeade. It might be nice." Dina shrugged.
"That actually does sound quite nice." Y/n agreed while Lucy and Cedric also mumbled forms of agreement.
Lucy begrudgingly handed Y/n her sketchbook back.
"What do you draw in there anyway?" Dina asked curiously.
Before she could answer or they could question Y/n further a certain boy started approaching them.
"Never mind that, here comes lover boy." Cedric smirked making Y/n's head whip around only to make direct eye contact with George who smiled awkwardly at her.
"What do I do?" Y/n whisper yelled to her friends once she had turned back around.
"Go talk to him obviously!" Lucy rolled her eyes pushing her out of her seat and into the approaching boy.
Y/n almost tripped in front of the entire great hall from the sheer force of Lucy's push. Instead she felt two gentle hands on her waist preventing her from completely embarrassing herself.
