The Other Granger (George Weasley x Reader)

A New Year (Year 4)

It was officially the start of the new school year.

Y/n could feel the nerves radiating off of Ginny that morning as they piled into the blue Ford Anglia, but she reassured her she would do great.

Y/n felt a rush of happiness as she stared at that familiar brick wall.

George and Fred went through first. Hermione and Y/n followed them. Ginny had just come out of the portal when the train whistle sounded and everyone had to run on board to make it in time. Once they made it they all breathed a deep sigh of relief.

"Where are Harry and Ron?" Hermione asked as she looked around for the two boys.

Y/n suddenly realized they were nowhere to be seen.

"It's going to be a long year isn't it?" Y/n sighed.

"Yes, I think it is." Hermione shook her head in disbelief before wandering off with Ginny to find a compartment.

Y/n walked with the twins for a while as both of them looked for their friends or a compartment that wasn't occupied.

"Y/n?" A voice she could recognize anywhere called out excitedly.

"Lucy!" Y/n yelled turning around and running towards the girl before pulling her into a huge hug.

"I missed you so much!" Lucy laughed as she held her best friend.

"Me too." Y/n replied holding her even tighter  for a second before pulling away.

The first thing she noticed about her best friend was her usually long hair that was now cut just above her shoulders.

"Lucy! Did you cut your hair short?" Y/n gasped as she looked at her friend who nodded excitedly.

"What do you think?" Lucy asked her opinion. She even did a turn to give Y/n a full view of her new hair.

"It's adorable! I love it." Y/n replied earnestly as she began to look at the different layers until she remembered it wasn't just the two of them.

Y/n awkwardly turned around and faced the twins who had been there smiling at the reunion the whole time.

"Sorry, I got distracted." Y/n laughed sheepishly.

"If you two want, you're more than welcome to sit with us." Lucy offered and Y/n smiled invitingly.

"A tempting invitation, but we should find Lee." George explained with an almost sad smile.

"At least before he scares off the entire female population of Hogwarts." Fred joked making both girls laugh.

"We'll catch you later, Y/n." George assured with a wave before walking away.

"I'll see you later, George and Fred." Y/n smiled and waved goodbye before walking away and ducking into the compartment Lucy led her to.

When Y/n walked in, Cedric started wolf whistling and Dina was laughing.

"What?" Y/n asked them in confusion.

"Someone grew over the summer." Cedric smirked gesturing to Y/n's feminine features.

"I bet you gave George a heart attack." Lucy laughed and nudged Y/n.

Y/n just rolled her eyes before joining her friend's laughter. Y/n looked over the group. It seems like everyone had grown over the summer. She didn't mean to be sentimental, but it felt like everyone was getting older.

"Speaking of, why were you walking in with George and Fred?" Lucy questioned catching the attention of their two other friends.

"I may have stayed at their house the past two days." Y/n smiled shyly.
