Bryce stared up at the ceiling. He was exhausted and yet his mind refused to shut off. Filled with thoughts of Peter. He moved a hand up to his lips. A light blush coming over his face. He figured Peter was gay, in some way. Taking one look at the man it was kind of obvious, yet why him? Surely Peter had his own soulmate? Even if he was cagey about it. Then again, all the little details were once again connecting in his mind. Hating religion, lives on the southern side, similar height, similar build, similar hair style, needs glasses, and to top all off he seemed to despise his soulmate. He had been drilling it into his head that Peter could never be his soulmate because he was male, but, when he pulled his arm away it felt so familiar. Bryce wouldn't ignore it anymore. He would investigate Peter as his suspect. Tomorrow though, he needed sleep, as Peter probably needed some space.
After breakfast Bryce made his way to a large office room. Inside was a single woman behind a desk in front of a large amount of drawers with records of each and every citizen. The woman looked up at him and gave him a bright smile. "Ah Prince Bryce, how may I help you?" "I need information on a Peter Nest." The woman nodded before opening a drawer and pulling out a folder. She opened it right away and gave a small chuckle. "Oh." Bryce raised a brow. "What?" Bryce asked. "Oh nothing, but it turns out we do have an Angel in our kingdom, just a bit more subtle." She said before she handed the file over. Bryce opened it, to see Peter's full name.
Peter, Angel, Nest. Bryce almost completely froze. Angel was his middle name. Scanning more on his paper revealed his soulmate mark was left undocumented. If he was Angel it was easy to see why. It was on his shoulder, easily hidden by a shirt. Now there was one other thing he wanted to see. He took the folder and left for the library. In the far back was a large map of the land. His eyes scanned for that one specific place. Sure enough he found it. Little Vale. A small town right next Constance. Surrounded completely by woods. Angel admitted to running into the woods to avoid going to church, Peter would've had ample opportunity to do so as well. "Ahem." Bryce turned to see a guard. "A letter from the Kingdom of Constance." He said as he handed it to Bryce. Without a second thought he tore into.
"Dear Prince Bryce of Clayton, we received your letter and we are disappointed to say no citizen of Constance matches your description. We asked our neighbor Little Vale as well, and they have a similar case. They mentioned they once had a resident that matched your description, but we do not think it is your soulmate as they said this previous citizen was male, and did not have a soulmate mark. However to leave no stone unturned we did ask for his current location. Unfortunately Little Vale does not keep records of where one moves, but they provided us with the name Peter Nest. We hope you find your soulmate soon and our information provides you with a lead. Sincerely, the queens of Constance." That was it, the final straw. "You gather a group. I think I know who it is." The guard nodded before running off. A group of about ten guards joined him as they made their way to Peter's house. Avoiding the center so as to not tip off Peter. Finally they arrived at his small hut. The guard went in first to ensure there were no traps. Before Bryce entered. There was barely any furniture. Made sense one guard poked his head out of the bedroom.
"Your highness we found something." Bryce walked over his heart pounding loudly. When he walked in, his eyes immediately landed on the blue rose placed in a glass of water. Just barely beginning to wilt. "Didn't you give your soulmate one of the flowers from the garden?" Bryce nodded as he walked over. Placing a hand on the soft petal. He couldn't think of any other way he got his hands on it. "Your highness we found something else interesting." Bryce stood up and walked into the bathroom. Right on the counter was makeup that matched Peter's skin tone. From the looks of it he was almost out of it. Surely he hadn't been using that for the whole year he had been here. He must've bought it in Little Vale to use it to cover his soulmate mark there. That would make everyone think he was markless. "There's no sign of the dress." A guard said. Peter could have thrown it out the next day. Then again someone would report it if it was found in the trash. Then Bryce remembers seeing a woman hanging out with Peter. If this dress was hers it would make sense why nobody would raise a brow if she got her hands on it. Same could easily go for the wig and the shoes. Now all that was left to do was confront Peter. If he could get some guards to search his coworkers house for the gown and shoes it would be irrefutable. He would just have to wait for Peter to get home. That was going to take some time though.
"YOUR MAJESTY!!" A guard shouted as he burst into the bedroom. He was sweating badly and panting. "One of the churches was getting people to publicly baptize and convert and now they're beating a young man in the square! They won't stop until royal interference!" Bryce froze, Peter was at the square. "Do you know who they're beating?" Bryce asked in a panic, "I don't know his name, I just know they claim he's a slut for having two hickey's on his neck and covering them with makeup , and that he has blue hair." Every guard stared over. They all knew Bryce definitely left some love bites, and most of them knew Peter's hair color. "Let's go." Bryce said as he rushed out of the house and onto his horse. He just hoped they wouldn't be too late.
