A New Brething Style

The breathing of the elements. It was an ancient breathing style that was directly descended from sun breathing. It was the second closest to sun breathing. Right behind moon breathing. It took from other breathing styles and expressed their elements.

Lynn had found a book in an abandoned house one day while traveling around the mountains for some air. The contents explain how to preform this breathing style. So now Lynn is on a mission to master it.

Lynn's pov

The book was dusty and awfully dirty. With the paper having a few stains and almost falling apart. The edges on it were yellow from age. The leather on the outside was black with the elemental symbols on the cover. In the middle centered the sun and the moon. With a katana plunged through them both.

I had recently learned how to read, since I didn't know that many words before. And I hadn't known how to write at all. I was still learning as Urokodaki was teaching me all he knows.

I opened to the first page which explained how the first user of this breathing style, wasn't even a demon slayer. They had watched them for years and created their own breathing style. Since they couldn't choose just one to learn, they learned one or two from all of the forms and turned them into their own. It was a woman, who stole her katana from a sword smith. She dedicated her life to traveling all of Japan hunting demons. This was not long after the first breathing styles were made.

The second explained how they passed it down through the generations until their death.

The third and forth pages were ripped out. The fifth discussed how to hold a katana. Which was similar to other pages in the book which was about how to use a sword as well as various ways to practice.

The last few pages were the most interesting, they explained the forms and the effects that they had on demons. Including the effect of the human body and the necessary surroundings for each form.

(Most of these are finishing moves)

The first form: Suns Wrath
This will burn the demons limbs to a point where they regenerate slowly. This can both be used to weaken the demon by cutting its limbs, or as a finishing move by decapitating the demon. However, this move requires a lot of energy. And requires a lot of stamina to preform accurately.

The Second Form: Moonlight slash
This move is similar to the first where it can both be used to weaken a demon, or as a finishing move. Fortunately, it takes less energy, but cannot burn like the sun form.

The third form: Phoenix feathers
This move is a series of multiple slashes mostly used to weaken a demon, but again can be used as a finishing move, as their last attack can be toward the neck. This move gains stamina through more and more hits. However, if it is a strong demon like an uppermoon it is not enough to cut their head off.

The forth form: Water Dragon
This forms a water dragon that can take out multiple weaker opponents in one attack or just take off a demons limbs. It is a dragon made of water and doesn't use too much stamina.

The fifth form: Whirl wind
This form goes in a spiral motion and can be used over and over again as it doesn't use as much stamina. This cannot be used as a final move unless the demon is standing still and doesn't dodge. (Which we know thats not very likely to happen).

The sixth form: electro hit
This move makes the user go at an extremely fast speed, as well as their attack speed being as fast as lightning. This uses a lot of stamina and cannot be used as a final move unless the demon is weak.

The seventh form: Frozen waters
This move can only be preformed if there is water near by. The sword must be dipped in water. Then, once you stab the demon or slice the demon, the water will freeze that part of their body. Causing them to struggle to regenerate that part of their body.

"How interesting," I thought allowed. I was currently exiting the structure. I heard a creak and when I turned around the house started to collapse in on itself. The old wood had taken all it could and began snapping and fumbling under the weight of the house.

"Well, isn't that a shame." There were other pages in the book but they all had some sort of writing that I wasn't familiar with. Thus, I was unable to read them, for now.

I began to run back home, 'hopefully I can learn and master this breathing style. Don't get me wrong, water breathing is a great form and I have done well with it. But, I can't connect with it. I am oddly drawn to this new form. I want to know more about it. I want to know more about this woman who created it. Who was she? Can I find her descendants so they can teach me? How would I find them? So many questions.. and it all begins with this book.

In the distance I spotted Tanjiro heading back from what I assume is another unsuccessful day of trying to cut his boulder. I had tried to teach him how. He just couldn't get the hang of it. He seemed very defeated, which confirmed my suspicions.

"How was it today, Tanjiro-San?" I asked. "Unsuccessful as usual," he sulked. I pat his head in an attempt to consul him. I don't know how to comfort people I'm not that close with. And I'm not willing to let anyone touch me, unless really necessary. I hate physical touch from people other than my closest friends. I had been getting more physical with Tanjiro. It's things like this where I pat his head.

It was another unsuccessful day of trying to cut the boulder. 'Why can't I cut it? Am I really that weak? I'm supposed to be strong, to protect my love, Lynn. She has already cut hers in half. So, why can't I?' I was walking home, visibly sulking. When I noticed Lynn was running up to me. She asked me, "how was it today Tanjiro-San?" 'I love it when she says my name.' I had tried to get her to drop the honorifics, but she refused.

"Unsuccessful, as usual." I said making sure she knew I was sulking. 'Please pat my head, please pat my head, please-' she then pat my head and it took everything in me not to smirk. Instead I cracked a pleasant smile. I knew she had probloms with physical touch, I had learned that the hard way a couple months ago when I tried to hug her. I didn't mind too much though. It made every interaction that much more special. She also hated socializing, so only the few fortunate can hear her beautiful voice. 'Nezuko would love her.'

Dinner was served, and it was a bowl of Roman with extra eggs in it. Thankfully no one asked where I was all day. Since, I went off at all the time to get some alone time. It was just routine at this point. I hide the book behind the house, so they wouldn't question it. We all headed off to bed, after the dinner that was full of conversation, which I of course did not do much participating in.
