Lynn's pov

Me and Tanjiro were walking side by side through the semi-thick underbrush, of the dense forest we traveled in. Agatsuma-Kun was trailing behind us. Tanjiro's footsteps made a soft crunching noise as he stepped on the mass of leaves that littered the ground. The air was fairly moist with hardy a breeze to be found.

"Maybe I should hang back for now," Agatsuma-Kun requested. "I know that if I tag along with you guys I won't be able to do anything." I was sure if my face was not covered by a mask, they would be able to see the irl mark I knew I had. The aura of a demon was becoming more and more apparent to me. 'It's right up ahead, be prepared.' The voice warned me. Through the trees were came to a clearing, in the middle of the clearing was a mansion.

'Wow, this place is almost as big as Lady Tamayo's mansion. Are these huge estates common here?' The first floors walls were made of a Sepia brown colored wood. The roof was made of black, clay tiles. The second floors wood was painted white.

We walked up to the mansion, 'why would a demon hide here.' I could smell blood form inside of the place. It made a pang of hunger reach through me. (Daemo's have cravings for blood, however they do not need it to survive). "I can smell blood," Tanjiro voiced out his thoughts. "I can too," I told him. "Wait, you guys can smell blood from all the way out here?" Agatsuma-Kun stared at us, mostly me, in awe. But his face slowly turned into one of horror. "I can't smell blood, but I can hear some," he paused for a second, shuttering, "creepy sounds."

"Now that you mention it.." I muttered, mh ears twitching at the sounds of children screaming. 'God, I hate the thought of children dying. In my opinion, an adult should be able to take care of themselves, it's unjust to attack and or kill a child.'

I heard the sound of two children shuttering. I looked over to my left and saw a boy and a girl. They both looked to be about 8-7 years old. They stared at us, clutching each other in an attempt to stop the trembling that consumed them. It was a sight o had seen far too many times for comfort.

They both had the same wide, hazel eyes. Both of their hair was black, the boys short, the girls long. The boy had on a green kimono with a blue haori to cover it. The girl wore a pink kimono and a purple obi sash. They both covered their feet with socks and sandals.

I tapped Tanjiro's shoulder and pointed over to the duo. He and Agatsuma-Kun thrned over to look at them. After a few seconds of silence, Agatsuma-Kun was the first to speak up. "Kids?" Tanjiro assist them, "they look scared." Tanjiro walked over to greet them. "Hello there, is there a reason why you're out here on your own?" He asked them sweetly. They don't speak and only continued to speak.

Tanjiro stopped about a foot away from the children. 'Should we threaten information out of them?' I was about to unsheathe my sword when Tanjiro got on one knee and did something with a sparrow. I'm not sure what though... Whatever he did, it calmed down the children significantly. They were no longer trembling, but still looked shaken. They sat down on the ground, still clutching each other.

"Yeah, what happened?" Tanjiro asked them nicely. "Is this your house?" The boy shook his head before responding. "No, no it's not. This is... this house is.. it belongs to a monster!" He shouted the last part out. He began to explain his story. "When we were walking through the road at night, this monster we'd never seen before came after us. It went straight for our brother, hardly even sparred us a glance."

"Did it take him into that house?" Tanjiro asked, pointing toward the mansion behind me. "Yeah," the boy nodded his head. "So you two followed them here? That's really brave, good job." Tanjiro praised the now crying children. "We followed the trail of blood from our brother. That thing really hurt him." He was fighting back a sob at that point. "It'll be alright. We're going to go and defeat the bad guy, and save your brother!" He promised them, in another attempt to calm them down and cheer them up.
