Tanjiros pov

Teruko ran over to the boy quickly. "Brother Kiyoshi! We found you!" Her arms out stretched. The boy was about to hit the drum again, but as soon as he realized who the girl was he stopped himself. Placing the drum down, he engulfed the little girl in a hug from his sitting position. "Teruko!" He exclaimed, tears ready to fall from his eyes.

It was beautiful. I couldn't help but smile sadly, knowing that I will never be able to do that with my siblings ever again, other than with Nezuko of course. As I walked over to them, the Kiyoshi finally took notice of me. "Who is he?" He asked Teruko.

"I'm Tanjiro Kamado," I introduced myself. "I'm a Demon Slayer," I informed him. I crouched down so I could look him in the eyes. "You have held out really well. Can you show me your wounds?" I asked him sweetly.

The boy started crying with his right hand covering his eyes. "Brother?" His little sister asked him. I showed him a package of ointment. "This can help, but first you need to show me your wounds."

He looked at me in the eyes before showing me his right leg. The bottom half of his pants had been ripped off. The boy still had tears in his eyes as I applied the ointment.

I made sure to make some small talk to distract him. Talking about Urokodaki and of course, Lynn~. "Can you tell me exactly what happened, if you can?" I asked him, my voice became more serious. He shivered slightly before explaining what had happened to him.

"A monster kidnapped me, and it tried to eat me.." He took a moment before continuing. "But then, another monster showed up out of no where. And... they started fighting to the death, over.. over who was going to e-eat me. A-and then, the demon with the drums coming out of him..." He shakily inhaled before continuing. "When he was attacked by another one of the monsters, he left one of the drums behind. When I picked it up and hit it, the room changed. Thats how I've held out."

I was slightly taken aback by how easily he complied. "A demon with drums growing out of him, if that's him.." I muttered, talking to myself. "He mentioned something about, 'marechi'." He gasped and then exclaimed to me, "yes that's right! I don't know what it means but he kept calling me, 'marechi'."

A loud screech came from the crow beside me. "Marechi is the name to a person with a very rare type of blood!" It laughed out loud. The two children held onto eachother, likely startled at my crows ability to talk. "What's that look? I'll teach you respect!" I had to prance my hand over it mouth to keep him silent. "Cut it out ," I warned my crow.

"When you say rare type of blood, what do you mean?" I asked him. Holding him within my hands as I stared at him expectingly. "The block of all living species can be broken into types. The more rare or the more scarce the blood the more desirable it is to demons. For you see, in terms of nutritional value to a demon a human marechi is equivalent to 100 normal humans!" My crow explained to us. "A marechi is like a bountiful feast for them! Making marechi's their favorite food!"

I took a quick sniff and noticed a demon drawing closer. I heard the sound of footsteps form a few walls back. It was the same drum demon as before! He was muttering, "marechi", over and over again. Similar to what he had done before.

"I'm going to head out there." I informed the two children. "Keep calm, it's all right." I said as I placed both of my hands on the boys shoulders. "I'm going to take down that demon." He nodded understandingly. "Listen to me Teruko." She turned her attention over to me. "Your brother is really worn out at the moment, so make sure to look out for him all right?" She nodded as well. "As soon as I leave this room, use the drum to change areas. Just like Kiyoshi has been doing. If someone tries to open the door or you hear something, strike that drum to remove yourself from danger. I promise you that I will come back for you. I'll follow your scent back. Then I'll call your names so you know it's me."

I squeezed their shoulders to comfort them. "Just hold out a little longer, can you do that?" They both gave me a determined look, before nodding once. "Great, you are both so brave." I stood up and turned towards the door. "I'll be going now."

I turned around to go onto the next room. However, the demon poked its head into the room I was about to enter. Reacting quickly, I charged towards it. Leaving a small trail of dust behind in my wake. "Strike it!" I gelled behind me.

The drum was struck as the room doors closed after I left. "You insects, so infuriating!" The demon was now through the doors, and in the same room as me. He hit his right drum
twice, on command, the room twisted so that the ceiling was now the floor. My stomach did a quick flip that made me almost throw up.

I managed to land on my feet. I had to keep my left hand on the ground as I regained my balance. My right arm held the katana with a tight grip. He made slow menacing steps toward me, the same frustrated look on his face as he viewed me.

This time, he hit the drum on his stomach. I had to duck my head low to avoid the incoming slash. The right drum came next. 'The right drum flips the room to the right.' I began to take notice of each of the drums ability's. I skidded across the room on my left shoulder. Hardly given a second to catch myself before being thrown left. 'The left drum flips the room to the left.'

'Right leg is a forward spin, while the left leg is a backward spin! The drum on his stomach launched that floor attack.' I had to dodge that one next. Now that he was fueled up, he began hitting each of the drums faster than my eyes could travel. Not that they could even focus on that thanks to the quick dragging of gravity.

He slowed down for a few seconds and I made a B-line for his neck. I came just a few short feet away from him when I had to dodge another one of his claw attacks. Now I was becoming frustrated. 'How am I supposed to cut off his neck if I can't even come anywhere near him?!'

'On top of that, even though Lady Tamayo had cleaned and bandaged my wounds, they weren't completely healed yet. Can I really beat him? I'm still in so much pain... I'm not sure how much longer I can hold on!' I finally landed on my feet, still on the ceiling, directly upside down from the demon.

I remembered what Urokodaki had taught me about the adaptability of water. How the breathing style had 10 forms so I could adapt to fighting any opponent. 'That's it! I just need to adapt to his moves!' After flipping over to the same gravitational pull, I hauled myself off of the ground. Adjusting my body into a fighting stance. "I have survived this long, I know I have what it takes!"
