MARRIAGE for convenience...

Never did I consider having a partner and becoming a wife!

Are you sure? Never did consider? Really? Saway ng isip ko.

Of course!

Even once? Why don't you admit that you did? Panunuya ng isip ko. Para na akong baliw na kinakausap ang sarili.

Maybe there was a time but it was just for a fleeting moment....

Matapos kaming ikasal ni Anton, agad kaming lumipat sa malaking bahay and was forced to live together. That is to stop the rumors from spreading that we only married each other for our family's businesses. Kahit totoo naman!

I thought Anton was rude and arrogant. But during the early months of our marriage, I came to understand that he's just straightforward and sees things objectively. We're both casual to each other, and treat each other like how we treat people in business. He accepts discussion and opinions about matters even for small details.

"Anton, can I suggest changing our curtains? I think it's making our living room too dark."

"Of course. I'll leave that to you."

"Reminder Anton, dinner at 7pm at your parents' tonight."

"Okay. I have a meeting with clients until 6pm. Should I pick you up at your office around 6:30?"

"No need. I have my car. Magkita na lang tayo doon."

"You don't need to keep that one arrogant branch manager, Damarah. I think you should fire him."

"Why?"

"After you discovered his embezzlement, will you still keep him?"

"How did you know about the embezzlement? I'll be meeting him tomorrow to discuss his resignation."

"I saw the reports and it just proved my suspicions about him."

"Anton, I'm too tired to go to that social event Mr. Perez wanted us to attend. I'll be staying home."

"Are you feeling sick?"

"No, but I just wanna rest."

"I'll just stay home too then."

"No, you can go. Don't mind me."

"It's alright. You can go to your room and rest. I'll just stay a bit more in the living room. You can call me when you need anything." And he casually walked away.

That's just how our usual conversation looks like.

I am most grateful to him when he helped me with Damarah Cosmetics. Aside from the money he invested, he gave ideas and inputs para makabawi ang kumpanya. At first, my ego was limiting me to accept his suggestions but I gave in. Afterall, he's one of my major investors.

That's when I also realized that he wasn't chosen to become the CEO of Allmark Group just because he's the son of the Chairman. He is actually smart and excellent in everything he does. I realized that if he's not competent enough, the Board has the right to choose another candidate anyway, and he was able to impress them all.
