"Thank you, Robin." Nancy says kindly, turning the keys to her car and switching it off. "I really didn't want to bring Jonathan here, you know?"

Robin nods, running her fingers through her hair nervously as her leg bounces slightly. "Yeah, it's no problem Nance. I understand. After all we've been through together, I mean.. It's honestly the least that I could do for you." She smiles out, hopping out of the car along with Nancy.

As the girls walk into the store, they were overwhelmed with "Can I help you?"'s and "What are you looking for?"'s. Since it's early April, and prom is in a few weeks, the store has been blossoming with guests. Hawkins, as most can imagine, is a small town. So, of course, this is the only dress store in town. And another of course, it's Robin's first time being here in her LIFE. If you can't tell, she's not one to go to prom.

And so, a sweet employee and Nancy talked for what felt like hours to Robin. All about colors, sizes, alterations, wanted embroidery, basically just all sorts of fancy fashion esque language that Robin didn't understand half of. Nancy explained how she only wore silvery jewelry, and she had only purchased silver heels. Like- why? If you're buying a dress, why is jewelry even important in the discussion? Then again, Robin has to remind herself that she has never been here before.

And then, the endless cycle of the employee picking dresses for her, and her trying them on. They back and fourthed for what honestly felt like forever. Nancy is stunning, beautiful, intelligent. Of course, every single dress Robin saw Nancy in looked absolutely amazing. But, they all mutually agreed that they just didn't look right.

Then, the employee had pulled a dress from the back. "It's last season, like, we've had this dress in the backstock forever, maybe a year or so. But it just feels right for you." And just like the 20 other times, Nancy went in to try on the dress. Rob didn't really know what to expect, she didn't even see the dress, just the black zip-up garment bag.

But that's when Nancy walked out of the fitting room. At this point, the employee was called away by a customer. So it was just the two of them. The dress just glistened. It had beautiful poofy sleeves, with a slight luminosity to them. It was a baby pink, tight around her chest and to her hips, and then it just flowed outward beautifully. On the side, a white flower was delicately embroidered, with small beads and sequins in it. Nancy didn't only look beautiful, shit, Nancy looked HOT.

Robin choked over her breath for a moment. "Do you like this one?" Nancy asks. "Because, I really do."

Robin acted impulsively and ran up to Nancy, hugging her "Nancy, you look so beautiful." She whispered, taking a step back to look Nancy up and down (for the 800th time that day.)

"You're a princess."

Nancy felt her face flush. She smiled gently. "Thank you Robin." She smiled, leaning slightly closer to Robin. Just as their noses were centimeters apart, the employee walked back into the room and caused the girls to jump a mile away from each other.

"Alright, how does this one look-"

"Oh my gosh, this is so the one."

Nancy nods, looking over at Robin. "I look like a total princess, right?" (obvious teasing, she knows what robin is.)
Robin blushes, running her fingers through her hair for a moment. "I- Yea! Of course you do it's- it's perfect."

After the girls purchased the dress, it was sent for alterations and was to be picked up in a weeks time. So now, the girls sat in Nancy's car, in tense silence.

"Did I really look that good, Rob?" Nancy asked, looking over with a delicate smile.

Rob nods 1000 times over. "Gosh, Nance, it was perfect."

"I sure hope Jonathan thinks so.." Nancy whispers as she turns the key, which stabs Robin in the chest a little bit.

Haven't they been having issues anyway? Why would she still be out to impress him, when she could have anyone she wants...
