ship: ochaco uraraka + himiko toga - this is inspired by the song 'casual' by chappell roan.
The city lights glittered like stars as Ochaco Uraraka wandered through the quiet streets. It was a rare night off from hero duties, but she found herself unable to relax. Thoughts of battles and responsibilities weighed heavily on her mind. Seeking solace, she ended up at a quaint little café, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
As she stepped inside, the warm glow and soft hum of conversation greeted her. She made her way to a corner table, hoping for a moment of peace. But as she sat down, she felt a pair of eyes on her. Looking up, she was startled to see Himiko Toga, the notorious villain, sitting across from her.
Toga's mischievous smile spread across her face. "Fancy meeting you here, Ochaco."
Ochaco's heart pounded, her instincts telling her to be on guard. "Toga. What are you doing here?"
Toga leaned back, her eyes gleaming with a mix of curiosity and something softer, something almost vulnerable. "Same as you, I suppose. Just looking for a break from it all."
Ochaco frowned, unsure of what to make of this encounter. "A break?"
"Yeah, even villains need a break sometimes," Toga replied, her tone light but sincere. She tilted her head, studying Ochaco. "Do you mind if I join you?"
Ochaco hesitated, every hero instinct screaming at her to say no. But there was something in Toga's eyes that made her pause. A loneliness she recognized in herself. With a sigh, she nodded. "Fine. But no funny business."
Toga's smile widened as she slid into the seat across from Ochaco and held up three fingers jokingly, "Scout's honor."
They sat in an uneasy silence for a moment, the tension palpable. Finally, Toga broke it with a sigh. "You know, I've always admired you, Ochaco."
Ochaco blinked, surprised. "Admired me? Why?"
"Because you're strong. And kind. You fight for what you believe in, even when it's hard," Toga said, her voice softening. "I've always wished I could be like that."
Ochaco's heart ached at the sincerity in Toga's voice. She had always seen Toga as a dangerous villain, but sitting here now, she saw a different side of her. A side that was hurting, searching for something she couldn't quite grasp.
"Everyone has their own struggles," Ochaco said gently. "We all have things we're fighting for. It doesn't make you any less because your path is different."
Toga looked down, her fingers tracing patterns on the table. "I guess... I've always felt like I didn't belong anywhere. Not with the heroes, not with the villains. I'm just... me."
Ochaco reached across the table, her hand covering Toga's. "You belong somewhere, Toga. Everyone does. Sometimes it just takes a while to find your place."
Toga's eyes met Ochaco's, and for a moment, the walls she had built around herself crumbled. "Do you think... Do you think we could be friends? Even just for tonight?"
Ochaco smiled, squeezing Toga's hand. "Yeah, I think we can. Just for tonight."
They spent the rest of the evening talking, sharing stories and dreams, their laughter blending with the soft music playing in the background. For a few precious hours, they were just two girls, unburdened by the labels of hero and villain.
As the night wore on, Ochaco found herself feeling something she hadn't expected. A warmth, a connection with Toga that went beyond their shared struggles. She realized that Toga wasn't just a villain. She was a person, with hopes and fears, just like her.
When it was time to leave, they stood outside the café, the cool night air wrapping around them. Toga looked at Ochaco, her eyes shining with gratitude. "Thank you, Ochaco. For tonight."
Ochaco smiled, a soft blush coloring her cheeks. "Anytime, Toga. Maybe we can do this again sometime?"
Toga's smile was bittersweet. "I'd like that. But for now, let's just keep it casual."
Ochaco nodded, understanding the unspoken words between them. They were from different worlds, but for tonight, they had found a common ground. And maybe, just maybe, that was enough.
As Toga disappeared into the shadows, Ochaco felt a strange sense of hope. She didn't know what the future held, but she knew that tonight had changed something. For both of them.
And as she walked back to the dorms, she couldn't help but hum the tune of the song playing in the café, the words lingering in her mind. It was a song about love, about connection, about finding solace in unexpected places. A song about being more than just a hero or a villain. A song about being human.
Ochaco never saw Toga after that encounter, it was like she just disappeared forever into those shadows from before. Maybe she had too much hope.
